Fiestar - A Delicate Sense Album Review

Rising Girl Group Fiestar have released their second mini album A Delicate Sense. This album has been anticipated for a while now as their first album was memorable, Yezi's fame with her time on Unpretty RapStar as well as her solo debut and the other members success with acting. Now let's talk about this album.

The lead single Mirror is a great song but it has its moment where it kinda fails. Now the song is about losing one's self and crying in a mirror during a misleading relationship. The lyrics are pretty good and fit the theme of the music video and the production of the song perfectly. Speaking of the production, the song is really good but it doesn't pop. the theme of the song and album continues the theme from Black Label which is good because it proves that the girls have mastered this style but are we, the fans, over this? The song needed to make them a force to be reckoned with. A song that doesn't have to rely heavily on fast paced dancing or a faster beat but something more vibrant would have worked.

During the bridge the song switches from being a subtle pop song to pop song with hip hop undertones, mainly trap. I loved this part. I thought it would change the pace but it just stayed the same. I agree that this is a really good song and I have it on repeat as well as the rest of the album but it could have been better. Something that we could dance to without wearing it out or it losing its touch.

This album definitely has an amazing flow to it. Each song bleeds into each other without any disruptions. I said the album has virtually the same theme as Black Label but the diversity of the song crafting was increased. Black Label had great flow but the songs sounded similar in a sense. This album has great flow and the songs are crafted to match each other without sounding similar. My favorite production has to be on A Slip Of Lips and Thirsty. A Slip Of Lips goes for this more Indian or Arabian feel to it which sounds outstanding and the girls were able to mesh well with it.

Thirsty is the complete R&B song that I knew it would be when I first saw the track-list. I have psychic powers. The song is basically what it says. Their thirst for this guys love and other drugs if you know what I mean. I like this song a lot because its more mature. They're flat out saying "we're going all night long". Mr. Black and Come and Go help complete what is a well crafted album.

Fiestar continued with the more mature and chic theme and it works. The only thing lacking with this album is that there aren't any moments with outstanding singing. A ballad song or a song that the singers could have really let loose on would benefit this album a lot. In their next release I hope they add that as well as a song that can get us moving our body. I rate this album  3.8/5.
