I am an idiot who forgot to release the August list. I had it complete but then just forgot to upload it. So here is the list of songs from august as well as the list for September.
August List
September List
G. Soul - Can't
G.Soul graces us with his vocals over a groovy beat about how he can't get over that special place. When you're in the right mood listening to this it feels like the world is crashing down around you as you try to match Soul's singing. The feelings that he's exuding ooze right into your body and there's nothing you can do from then on but enjoy the song. I also ironically can't get enough of this song just like he can't get over his ex. Good times.
Legit Goons - Junk Drunk Love
"Double Cheese, Chicken Wing, Chili sauce" Legit Goons never fail to entertain me with witty and hilarious lyrics with bars on top of a wavy ass beat. Its hard trying to explain this song as its just so damn good and one would need to hear it for themselves to experience just how great it is.
Jorja Smith x Preditah - On My Mind
When you hear "On My Mind" you can't help but dance and move around with the beat like a feather blowing in the wind. In this case the beat is the wind that keeps blowing its cold breath on the back of your neck. The lyrics are rather sad as Jorja talks about finally letting that person go after finally realizing that they're not good for you. The song has a funny juxtaposition as one should not really want to sing and dance but you can't help yourself with the lively beat.
Odd Eye Circle - Chaotic
Our ears and maybe even our souls were blessed when this song played on OEC's debut album "Mix&Match". I imagine stars and other cosmic entities dancing to this at their parties even though this song isn't much of a party track but something to sing you to sleep. Their voices and the pop beat are honestly too much for a normal human to digest. This song had to be made from the stars.
Bewhy - 9ucci Bank
The beat for "9ucci Bank" is menacing as hell. When you hear it it sounds like a horror flick is about to start. So I love the beat, its amazing and unorthodox compared to damn near all of hiphop and that's what makes it even better. Not many people could take a beat like this and flow over it with bars like Dok2 and Bewhy do here. This banger of a track is going into all party and turn up playlists.
BTS - Intro: Serendipity
Can we finally get a solo Jimin R&B album? Serendipity starts the album and the album honestly never recovers from how great the intro is. Everything after is just mediocre compared to our lord and Savior blessing us with his vocals. The song is only 2:20 which is a crime of its own. Why can't we have nice things?
Jinbo - Only You and Me
For the second part of his KRNB2 project, Jinbo releases "Only You and Me" with Jay Park. The song is a masterpiece. Their soft vocals harmonizing with each other with a slick jazz instrumental just melts your heart while simultaneous getting you a little heated. The song has a sexiness to it that is classy though. It is a crime that the song is only 3:03 when the rest of the songs are near or above 5 minutes. The song is so soothing that once all of your body melts into the right mold of the chemistry between the two, the song is over. Why Jinbo why?
Hangzoo - Best Driver Z
The remix or remake of Hangzoo's 2015 song and album of the same name "Best Driver" features Dean and Zion T. Here Hangzoo may be even more honest than he was back then. Zion T and Dean's soft voices colliding on this more funky beat with even more lyrics from Hangzoo causes for a train crash of beautiful catastrophes. There's cool background noises like car horns and clapping that help you visualize the song. The song is magnificent.
Peejay x B-Free - Thinking About You
I love hearing B-Free over smoother beats because he becomes more honest and his voice just sounds great. For Peejay's second album WALKIN 2, the two team up for "Thinking About You". The beat is groovy and jazzy which is completely different from what we're used to with B-Free. The song itself is just dope with B-Free thinking about this woman (probably his wife) and how no matter what happens she'll always be beautiful in his eyes. The lyrics and beat collide leaving you star struck, getting lost in its melodies. Its a fantastic joint.
Paloalto x G2, Huckleberry P - Rapflicks
We are talking bars on top of bars on top of bars. Paloalto, G2, and Huckleberry P annihilated this beat. On the cypher "Rapflicks which they teamed up with THE CUT. The video is cool but damn are they spitting. Not only that but the chemistry they have with each other is amazing. When one stops rapping the other intermediately picks us. The fusion is out of this world. We need more of this. Just straight bars with mad chemistry between rappers.
