Code Kunst - Muggles Mansion Album Review

Producer Code Kunst under HIGHGRND has released his first album under the label as well as his third Studio Album in Muggles Mansion.

Muggles Mansion starts with a "Artistic", a beat with an overlapping voice repeating "We are artistic". The beat itself is melancholy and truly serves as an introduction into what the album holds, a slew of well crafted tracks full of great talent. The first official track or, the track with vocals is "Perfume" and is performed by rapper Nucksal. The gives me an A Tribe Called Quest feeling in the start but soon switches into the flavor of Kunst. Not only this but Nucksal's rapping takes a turn as he's rapping even more passionately.

After this we are greeted with a good track featuring C Jamm. The track is about C Jamm's life as a rapper but its different from the previous track "Golden Cow", he did with Code Kunst on Kunst's past album Crumple, this track is about the lifestyle of one who has more success and is more laid back compared to Golden Cow which was filled with passion about being a rapper. "This Is" is simply about the good aspects of the lifestyle. After the "Fire Water Introduction" we have the actual Fire Water track featuring G.Soul and Tablo. The track is simply fantastic. The connection between G.Soul and Tablo is uncanny as the lyrics match perfectly to describe a relationship full of burning love but in solace like water. The beat was a bit upbeat compared to most Kunst tracks but it still had a solemn feel that made you believe in the song.

Muggles Mansion is a show of talent, love, and passion. Each track brings out the full extent of not only Kunst's beats but also the people rapping on them. Mino and Loco strongly convey their feelings of wanting to "be stronger than Hercules/Never die like a Zombie" on the track "StrOngerrr". These rappers breathes new life into an already solid track. There are tracks with artist that have different styles but come together to provide a great showing. Loopy, Punchnello and Ugly Duck have different styles but the track "Cruz", which houses them, mixes them all well. Each rapper was given the chance to prove to us their individual rapping ability yet taking nothing away from each other.

Besides the amazing show of talent, Muggles Mansion core, its main theme is the lust or desire for love from another, love from everyone, success, bragging rights and the ability to be contempt with oneself. An arrange of different emotions an experiences living in one body, a Mansion. Everything about this album is great. Every song has its own flavor but you can blend it all together to create one perfect smoothie. No rapper or singer held back on their lyrics nor the ability to convey those lyrics. I can do nothing but applaud this album on its beauty. 8.5/10 rating is in place here.
