4 Fan Theories For Star Wars The Force Awakens

So let me just say there are spoilers ahead. Getting it out of the way now. The movie has been out for a while now but I feel the need to still say it. Now, with that said I think enough time has passed that we can look at some of the fan theories ridiculous or not. I'm no MatPat but I'll try to expand on some of the shorter theories with information and my own thoughts.

1. Finn has The Force too: We know Rey has the force and is pretty good with a lightsaber due it being similar to her staff. But what about Finn? There's a lot of hints in the film and book that Finn has the force as well. Finn is one of the few stormtroopers to break his conditioning, which left Kylo Ren and General Hux shocked when they learned of it. Before Rey ever touches the lightsaber and discovers the force Snoke and Ren discuss an awakening, shortly after Finn broke free of conditioning on Jakku. Also on Jakku, Ren stopped and stared at Finn suggesting that he sensed the force in him. Feeling people's life force die may have been Finn's awakening on Jakku. Finn is really good in combat situations. The book reveals he was actually top of his cadet class when it came to weapons and strategy. He's a good shooter, makes sense because he was a stormtrooper, he's an excellent gunner after only a few minutes of learning but that isn't why he has the force. Maz Kanata who can see and use the force gives Finn the lightsaber as his weapon. He's never used one before but despite losing to Ren, he's actually good with it. He instinctively holds it the same way as Luke and uses it the same way for smashing attacks. He even managed to land a serious wound on Ren. Rey definitely has more force power than Finn, but he has the force as well.

2. Rey was trained by Luke Skywalker: So we all know that Kylo Ren was trained by Luke and that he may or may not have been behind the massacre. What if Rey was also trained by Luke? What if she wasn't abandoned by her parents but by Luke. What if he wiped her mind so that she wouldn't remember? This theory comes from the fact that the clothing Rey wears is similar to that of what Jedi Padawan wear. It could also be the reason for her skill with the lightsaber. The problem is this theory needs a lot of "what if," to happen for it to work. The idea is that Luke hid her so that she wouldn't be seduced by the dark side like Kylo Ren. It's a popular idea, almost as popular as the idea that she is Luke's daughter.

3. Kylo Ren left Rey on Jakku: Alright, let's say Rey is Luke's daughter and Kylo Ren was the one who killed Luke's students.  We all know that Kylo suffers with being pulled to the light side. Let's say he struggled with killing Rey. Instead he left her on Jakku. This makes a lot more sense than claiming that Han and Leia knew of her existence and left her on Jakku. Kylo is way better with the force than he is with a lightsaber. It wouldn't be crazy to believe he performed a mind wipe on her. We know she was cared for by Unkar Plutt, who doesn't even like her. What if he was only taking care of her because of threats from Kylo Ren? It's been about 15 years since she was left on Jakku so it wouldn't be crazy that she didn't recognize him. It explains why he freaked out when he learned Finn and BB-8 escaped with a girl. Maybe he freaked out that there was a possibility that someone could have found out he left Rey on Jakku. Luke had no idea Rey was alive so when he saw her he could only stare at her during the ending of the movie.

4. Mace Windu Will Return: So here's a few things about Mace Windu that we know. His purple lightsaber is one that bridges the gab between light and dark symbolizing someone who walks the line. He was the best Jedi in combat and his power came from loving to fight. The stronger the opponent the harder and better he fought. Mace died supposedly in Episode III, supposedly. He had an arm cut off and was thrown out of a window. But we've seen people survive way worse and more improbable situations. Most notably Anakin's defeat at the hands of Obi Wan. Also at the hands of Obi Wan, Darth Maul actually did survive, and it's still cannon. He used the force and hate to escape into an air vent and escape the planet to hide from Sidious' wrath. We also know that the force can be used to slow falls and losing an arm to a lightsaber would not cause death by blood loss due to it being cauterized. It's also possible that he can he hide his presence like other Jedi such as Obi Wan and Yoda when they hid after Order 66. So what if Mace lives? There's two theories going around. One is that he will be Snoke's master. This comes from the fact that he walked between light and dark, he had a temper, yelling at Anakin and other Jedi on numerous occasions. Despite saying that anger leads to the dark side he was clearly angry on several occasions such as facing Sidious. As well arrogant, bringing just three Jedi with him. The idea is that he fled the planet and found a place on the outskirts of the galaxy. Eventually a pilot lands there and informs him of what has happened and he returns to restore the Republic to what it was only to see that Luke Skywallker was leading the Jedi. Not trusting Luke for his father's actions he sets out to start his own group. The First Order. The other theory is that he returns as a legendary Jedi and helps Luke rebuild the order. There's another theory stating that he's Lando Calrissian's father and Finn's grandfather. Because all black people are related.
