Rookie Trio Purfles have surprised us all with their latest single Bad Girl. It was released Yesterday to everyone's surprise. I’m just going to say this now. Of the 3 singles released so far, Bad Girl is the second best behind A Bad Thing but is the best in terms of a great pop song that is super catchy and makes you want to dance to it. It has a retro funky pop ambience to it that is reminiscent of a Jun Hyo Sung song. Serious this song could have been a Hyo Sung song and done really well. Not to say the girls don’t pull of this song because they do. I’m just saying it has a Hyo Sung flavor.
Now the vocals aren’t as high and stressed as the previous single because it's more of a dance track. But I do love the vocals. After Wooyoung has sort of a high note she begins to rap. Now I love this because in the music video she is standing behind Geon Hee and Eunyoung and she pushes them aside as the beat is silent to deliver a really good rap verse. Her delivery and charisma were on point. I had forgot Wooyoung could rap until this moment.
The music video is very simple compared to A Bad Thing. The girls and their backup dancers perform in front of different color backgrounds. There actually isn't much to the video but the visuals are great. The girls are pretty and cute with their vibrant outfits that match the backgrounds and the dancing is really cool. I can’t wait to see them perform on music shows.
Bad Girl is a catchy dance track that I hope gets more recognition not only because it is a good song but because Purfles are great artist. They deserve more attention for their talents. If you have not listened to Purfles before, do it now. These girls are amazing. I rate Bad Girl a 4/5 song wise and a 3/5 music video wise. I can not wait for more of them in the future, especially an album. Until then I’ll be jamming to this song. How about you?
