Anime/Manga Spotlight: Prison School

Recently I have been catching up on One Piece but after I finished Thriller Bark, I decided to take another break from One Piece to check out some other anime. Prison School was the 1st anime I checked out while on my One Piece sabbatical. Let me explain why I choose Prison School for the newest edition of my anime spotlight series.

The plot in this series is pretty good even though the focus (to me) is more on the comedy and ecchi aspect. Five boys get accepted into a once all girls academy. Due to a particular tale of events that involved a perverted incident, the boys get thrown in prison school and in order to go back to being regular students, they need to serve one month in prison school. As the boys try to survive in prison school they realize that they’re being conspired against by the underground student council (A group of girls who run the school behind the scenes, I guess they would be like the mafia) who want them expelled from the academy.

I really like this series because of the perverted nature and comedy. Each of the five main characters are unique to say the least and each play a part in making the story enjoyable. The fan service also is a huge plus; sometimes Prison School reaches the “borderline hentai mark” (word to Powerbomb Jutsu) which may be a turn off to some people but I don’t mind. Each episode was hilarious and I haven’t had a good laugh while watching anime since Mangaka San- to Assistant San. (You can check out my article on that series by clicking here.

Overall Prison School is pretty rad. I started reading the manga after watching the anime and I must say that things really get more intriguing (story wise). Prison School is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for some ecchi and comedy anime/manga.
