At this point I've covered the best hip hop albums of 2014. But, what are the worst albums of 2014. What are the albums that make you shake your head and said "why did I listen to this." So I bring to you the 5 worst albums of the year.
Iggy Azalea - The New Classic: The New Failure, The New Black Face, The New Minstrel Show, Hip Hop Is Dead Again, Well I Tried, Accents From Australia to Brooklyn With A Stop In ATL, All these are more suitable names for this album. Why does Iggy speak with an Australian Accent but rap in both Brooklyn and Southern Accents? Why did this win an AMA? Why is it nominated for a Grammy? Why isn't this a hate crime? There's no redeeming qualities to this album. I'd rather listen to Nicki Minaj try to remake Blueprint with tracks like Anaconda. Somebody should violate T.I. parole for signing her, then arrest her for a hate crime.
Schoolboy Q - Oxymoron: Sometimes the music isn't what makes it bad. Sometimes it's the artist and the expectations. Man of The Year is a dope track. Oxymoron has some dope tracks without doubt. But it was a bad album. It's like when you wait for something for a really long time, people are hyping it up as the hottest thing to be manufactured since Nuclear bombs. Then you get it in your hands and you say "Oh, well that was nice." This was a bad album because Q hyped us all up, made us wait a ridiculous amount of time, changed release dates and all we got was Oxymoron. We were promised one of the greatest albums ever and we got "Meh, that was cool"
Your Old Droog - Your Old Droog: If you've heard of Droog you've probably seen the countless theories that say he's Nas. This album and artist was hyped up by reddit. Then they found out he's released a ton of music in the styles of different artist, he sold out a show, and they found out he was a white guy. That's when they changed their minds about him. Not one to ever be stopped by bad press or a name change Your Old Droog dropped an album. Biting Nas style some more. C'mon son. We know you're not Nas. You've riden this hype train long enough and nobody is left on it but you. Seriously, get off the train.
Nicki Minaj - The Pinkprint: I hope Jay Z sues you for everything you own an Beyonce releases a video of herself dancing on those stupid wigs you had. I was like "Nicki kind of hot without all the makeup, weird costumes and the wigs." Then she dropped Anaconda, the best video of the year and also the worst song of the year. Then she named her album Pink Print after Jay Z's Blueprint, after KRS-One's Blueprint. The point is, this is horrible and you need to go away Nicki. You should have rode into the sunset with Foxy Brown. You really are Lil Kim 2.0. Went from Good to pop to get away, burn it with fire.
Viper - You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack: Viper is a real estate agent and struggle rapper that has released 313 albums this year. Yes, I said 313 albums. All of which are available on Spotify. Viper has a discography that would put Lil B to shame. The name of this album comes from drug dealers that won't even sample their own product. Other albums from Viper include I Went To The County Jail Not The Penitentiary Pussy Nigga and Cops Can't Read and I'm Gonna Kill The Pussy Nigga That Killed Tupac. I wish I was joking. He has 313 albums this year alone, they're all bad, but he's completely serious about it.
Logic - Under Pressure: I felt bad about putting Schoolboy Q on this list for an overrated album. So I added Logic because he's just as overrated. He got hyped up by the "You're not smart enough to understand." When it's not really that deep. Logic benefits from an number of white fans who usually don't listen to rap. As Eminem said "If I was black I wouldn't have sold half." This is true. A white rapper will be rated twice as high as he actually should have been. So when they say his album was 11/10 they really meant 5.5. Yeah I know Logic is mixed, but he's Vin Diesel mixed. You'd never know they both have black fathers unless you google'd it so they still get to use the "I didn't know I couldn't do that officer" excuse.

Good. I thought I was the only one who didn't like that Oxymoron album.
ReplyDeleteNah, he let a lot of people down with that one. Everyone had great expectations because of his previous stuff and then he let us down.
