A few
months back I saw a few people that I follow on Twitter talking about going to
Anime Midwest. So I thought this would be a good opportunity for me to travel
and to meet some of my followers. So I set my sail for Anime Midwest in Rosemont,
IL (which wasn’t too far away from downtown Chicago).
Even
though the convention it’s self was meh I did have fun at Anime Midwest. I went
to a few panels and hanged out with two of my Twitter followers and other
people (as mentioned earlier) and also went to the raves that were being held.
Man let me tell you, the raves at Anime Midwest were pure epicness. I have never been to a rave before Anime
Midwest but the experience was pretty nice. Also the maid café was awesome, we
had a cute Asian girl serving us and she played the part of a maid VERY well. I
also had the chance to eat at Lisa Marie Varon’s (Female Professional Wrestler)
restaurant called The Squared Circle. I’ll let Young Mark Henry tell you guys
about his car trouble *Laughs*.
Ends up
most of the people that said there were going to go didn’t which sucked but I
did get to meet Terrence (@Nerd_Sage) and Young Mark Henry (@GarserTheClown)
and a few other interesting people.
The
hotel that the convention was in was pretty nice. The convention was in two
buildings as well which was good because more room for an anime convention is
always better. The convention it’s self was ok, but to compare the experience
to Katsucon well Katsucon wins by 1st round knockout in just three
seconds.

Overall
Anime Midwest was fun. I met some good people, went to the raves, ate some good
food, and took pictures with people that had good cosplay. I felt like Anime
Midwest lacked something’s that Katsucon didn’t lack. I hope that Otakon (the
next anime convention that I plan on going to) will be better than both Katsucon
and Anime Midwest. That’s my little tale on Anime Midwest. I hope you enjoyed
reading this and if you never been to an anime convention before do so their
pretty fun.
P.S.
“Young Mark Henry” is an inside joke, if you watch Pro Wrestling or listen to Powerbomb Jutsu you might
understand.
That was Taiwan's Tale, but you can watch Terrence's down below.
