Granblue Fantasy The Animation is an Anime based off a Mobile Video Game. The story revolves around the main characters Gran and his winged Lizard Vyrn, They meet a runaway girl named Lyria who is running away from a Military that probably wants to use her power or something like that. Yes, you've guessed it, its another one of those anime.
The first episode starts with lieutenant Katalina trying to help Lyria escape the battleship they are on. They are intercepted by what seems to be scientist or maybe just a higher up on the payroll. After Lyria makes the shard in a tube the higher up was holding explode, it send her through the battleship and landing in a forest where Gran finds her. Shortly after they are attacked by two soldiers who should be fired because they were easily taken out by Gran. He beat them in less than 30 seconds.
Gran is a little too persistent. He insists to follow Katalina and Lyria to their air craft but this lands him into bigger trouble when they run into the higher up from earlier, Pommern, which leads to him almost dying by the hands of a five headed Dragon. The ending was lame. Lyria magically heals Gran for him to get up and they both summon a dragon named Bahamut to defeat the other dragon. This makes no sense.
I honestly don't see myself continuing this series. Its undoubtedly cheesy. The animation is pretty cool, the story could go anywhere but it is very basic. The little fighting scenes we got were okay but nothing special, but that's because the Soldiers are incredibly weak as hell. I do enjoy the ending song a lot so I might watch the next episode based on that. It could be a good series but its hard to tell based off one episode.
