Seohyun - Don't Say No Album Review

Seohyun is the third member of Girls Generation to release a solo album just after members Taeyeon and Tiffany. I've been waiting for this release for quite some time so lets jump into this review.

The album starts off with the title track Don't Say No. Now I usually don't like when the album starts with the lead single but in this case, it was a great way to open the album and it fits perfectly in its spot if you look at the rest of the album. The premise of Don't Say No is about her not wanting her male counterpart to leave her. The lyrics are okay with nothing special about them but the emphasis is definitely on her voice and the production. The song is well crafted to fit her voice as she has a strong voice and a light but not too poppy pop song like this was a great choice for the lead single. Overall its a solid track and the music video was on point.

The cute bubbly song Hello featuring Eric Nam follows as track two. The song is no doubt sweet as the lyrics point how no matter how small the actions towards each other are, they still call it romance because it makes them feel good. This is a perfect form of a duet. Both parties shined here and their vocals fit well together. Would love more songs between the two. The slow yet dreamy track Magic is next. The track is a standout here because it's a R&B trap song that I could see some one like Hoody or Ailee singing but Seohyun does the track justice. It doesn't feel like she's doing this because songs like this are popular but because it fits her. Lyrics are good, the beat is straight and I love the way she sings here, it makes the track even sexier.

The acoustic track "Lonely Love" is next up with Seohyun singing of a selfish love she refuses to go back to because homeboy's love is not good enough. I like the acoustic guitar in its simplicity here. Seohyun's voice was very vibrant here, good track overall. Love and Affection was cool but its too short. If it were longer it could be the best song on the album with some added lyrics and a bridge. The grey vibes I get from Bad Love and the horn on the chorus are hitting my soul so sensually. I love this track, probably my favorite on the album. The composition and the way she sings is just so damn good. I can't find anything negative to say about this track.

Seohyun ends the album with Moonlight, a sensual R&B track about cuddling in the moonlight. This was the best way to end the album. We're left on a good note with a beat that just feels so damn good and singing that croons in our ears. The vibes on this track are great because I just kept getting the feeling of taking a nap on the grass with someone, in the moonlight. She definitely created a painting here. I'm amazed at how each of the tracks have their own flavor but still come together for a solid project. I enjoyed each track and have nothing bad to say about the overall project. I have to rate it a 4/5 and I'm looking forward to more of her music.
