Perfect Songs With Perfect Music Videos Part 1

To be honest, not every great song comes with an equally great music video. Most music videos are easy scenes of shot sin the club, chillin on the block and some random dancing on a yacht or whatever. Some music videos just aren't that appealing but those mentioned can tell a story of their own if done right. Today, I'll be talking about 5 of my favorite songs with even better music videos.

Yang Dail - Don't Leave
"Don't Leave" is a simple yet powerful ballad about not wanting your significant other to leave. The music video made an already good song great. The narrative follows a chef and his relationship with his girlfriend from start to finish. We see all the fun they've had but eventually they break up. the final scene of them kissing is powerful because it was forced but still passionate and truly signaled the end. Coupled with the song it creates a mini drama that tears you apart at the end. I've even shed a few tears from watching it.

Goldlink - Crew
The national anthem of 2017 has a simple yet effective music video. The video follows are singers and a ton of back up dancers, people, cyclist hanging out and dancing. Normally this would be just another by the numbers music video but coupled with the song it creates a visual atmosphere the syncs up perfectly with the song. Everyone in the video is normal meaning we can see ourselves hanging out with them and when the happens memories are created. "Crew" isn't just a song but a movement.

Vince Staples - Senorita
The video follows Vince through the streets of Long Beach as Vince raps and picks up his shipment. Through this walk he gathers a following of mismatched people yet they all have something in common. All of them are thugs, delinquents but most importantly people of color. They are all picked off by guns until the shirtless Latino with the boombox finally reaches the end of the block which is a television screen were a white, ignorant family is watching them like they're a in a movie or worse a zoo. When you think of this then read the lyrics "My nigga just focus, I'm tryin' to paint you a picture
We stuck in the moment
" it all becomes clear. This could have been a music video about anything but its not. It perfectly reflects the lyrics in visual form.

SISTAR - Lonely
SISTAR's last single and music video had to be a rather sad one. "Lonely" is about  a couple that deteriorates over time to the point that its better to call it quits but there may be a deeper meaning to all of it. This was SISTAR's last song together and the music video shows our girls hanging out in Macau together and separately. The atmosphere of the video truly gives off the sense that this is the end of the group but some scenes could be interpreted even deeper such as Bora swimming in the pool alone while the other members watch patiently. You could interpret this as Bora being the less talented of the 4 who didn't have a meaty solo career compared to Hyolyn and Soyou who had great solo music and Dasom who has a great acting career. This could all be speculation as fans are torn that such a group is ending but there is a lot of symbolism in the music video.

Kendrick Lamar - HUMBLE
There is a ton of symbolism that syncs with Kendrick's lyrics on this timeless banger. A person could write a paper on this song and music video alone but what took a banger into a phenomenon was its music video. Its fun from start to finish as we see Kendrick in tons of different environments carrying out the lyrics to his song such as the crazy scene cuts when he's standing under the bridge dressed like Steve Jobs. Then you have the most famous scene of the men with their heads on fire as Kdot raps along to the beat. Another funny moment is the passing of Grey Poupon between two people in two different cars. The music video is riddles with storytelling, great camera effects as well as entertaining scenes. Kdot gave us a video that when you hear the song, you instantly think of it's music video.
