Poem: No Eye Man by Garser Dismuke

I once saw a blind man walking in downtown Chicago
Except, he wasn't just blind, he had no eye sockets
His face was whole but no eyes. No one noticed.
They kept walking their dogs, buying their lattes and ignoring the homeless
The Blind Man or No Eye Man was beautiful looking
I wondered why I was the only one to see him
He crossed Michigan to Wabash and faded into the night life
No one batted an eye nor their lashes spurred
Maybe they were eyeless as well.
