This film picks up two years after the first. Vampires are getting infected with the Reaper Virus which basically drives them insane while increasing their vampiric ways. They now feed on and infect other vampires, their mouths unhinge and unfold into gaping head wounds. They're immune to holy symbols, silver and all the other things that Vampires usually fear. The only weakness for these new beasts is sunlight. The reapers essentially ran the regular vampires right out of town.
Blade and his new team of Scud and Whistler. Despite helping Whistler commit suicide in the last film, he had already turned into a vampire despite Blade not noticing. Vampires took Whistler and tortured him for two years before Blade found him and cured him using the cure from the last film. Whistler hates Scud. Scud is kind of annoying. Whistler is a dick. Blade is fed up with them both. The vampires send some messengers to ask Blade for his help and he actually agrees because, super vampires aren't cool. What Blade didn't know is he would be working with a group trained specifically for killing him. Hijinx ensue.
They go check out a Vampire nigthclub and everything goes south. One of the Bloodpack gets infected so Blade kills him. Another gets infected and keeps it a secret. Scud pisses himself when he gets attacked. Whistler just leaves because he was too old for this. When Whistler shows up he says he founds the nest and they dive into the sewers. The infected Bloodpack member turns and kills another before getting murdered by Blade.
Blade gets knocked out and it's revealed the Vampires created the reapers as a way to kill Blade. Scud rhymes with crud and that's exactly what Scud is because he was a double agent. He'd prefer to be a pet than cattle because he thinks Vampires will win. This was all a horrible plan because a lot of vampires died as a result. Blade gets dissected as the vampires attempt to learn what makes him tick. Whistler conveniently escapes and drags Blade to a pool of blood forcing him to drink. Then Blade runs through and whoops ass.
Blade films are simple, that's part of their charm. What do you want me to say? The action looks great. Whistler seemed more like a double agent than Scud. There's your twist. It was good. I really just want to tell people how good they are. I'm sorry. Snipes is the perfect choice for Blade. More than any other person chosen to play any other hero.
The addition of the Reaper's really helped it transition into the horror genre as well. The night club fight scene is still one of my favorites today, tomorrow the next day and so on. Critics say these movies get worse with every entry, but I don't care. They get better to me. Just wait until you see how much I loved Blade: Trinity, vampires, violence, pro wrestling and comic books. You don't even know how much I loved it.
