So in this volume things get slow after Koran escapes from Recca and Kurei with the help of Aoi and Renge. Five days pass and Aoi, who only Recca and Tokiya remember feeling her aura in the Cave, enrolls into their school. She was only there for a short time. Things are relatively back to normal even though they were put to hell just a week ago. Fuuko even lost a "friend" and went rampage on one of Koran's clones. Nonetheless she's fine now. Before Kurei split on Recca and crew, he dubs his faction Ura-Hokage Uruha. Later in the volume we learn the Shishiten is going by Uruha Shuryo. Can we please just drop Ura, Uru, and Uruha from all squad names. This is getting ridiculous. All of the villain factions have Uruha in their name under a different leader. You would think after so much in fighting people would just make up their own, creative names.
After having a normal life for once we find out that Aoi and most likely the rest of her faction, are all test tube babies. Not only that, they're all failures unlike Renge. That must really suck living knowing you're a clone that can't do what you were created to do. The story tried humanizing Aoi but I really don't care for her character. there wasn't enough development with her character for the audience to get close to her, especially when we already knew who she was from start. Once again, fake deep. With great character development we could have actually gotten close to her but nope, we must rush the story.
Aoi with the help of Hiruko, who is weak, Yanagi is captured by the duo. Hiruko has a unique ability. his Madogu wasn't explained but he has the ability to control his blood and use it as a weapon. Either Kaoru, Recca and Tokiya super powered him or he's complete garbage cause hey took him out pretty easily, and off screen. Man is weak it seems. Now with Yanagi under Koran's control again, Recca and crew must find and defeat Koran, but this time Kurei will be in the mix fighting as a third power as well. Recca is also about to finally control Resshin so the upcoming volumes should be great. I just want good fights is all. Please give us good fights.
