Top 10 Songs: Month of June 2017

Fame on Fire - XO Tour Life 3 Cover
Lil Uzi Vert claims he's a rock star but his songs are hip-hop as hell. Honestly fuck him. His latest hit is XO Tour Life 3 and its catchy but now we have the final version or, what it should have been from the start. Punk Rock Band Fame on Fire delivered us a cover of the track which blew my mind. It truly is what the song should have been from the start. This song actually makes me want to blow my fucking brains out. Fuck Uzi.

Big Boi - Kill Jill
I never knew I wanted to hear Young Jeezy, Big Boi and Killer Mike rapping over a sick beat that had Hatsune Miku vocals in the background. I especially love Killer Mike's verse who opens up the track. His rapping got me hyped as fuck but even though I enjoy the chorus from Jeezy, he should have had a verse. Big Boi's verse was great as well. Overall the song is nothing short of a sure fire banger that's been on repeat for the month.

G.Soul - Tequila
G.Soul finally left the Idol Machine that was JYP to a label that properly suits him in Higher Music. His first single since joining is the summer jam Tequila featuring Hoody. The beat was produced by Thurxday and is perfect for G Soul whose style has been a mix of Pop and R&B but this has a House Music sound with some Trap inspiring. I was worried about Hoody because this isn't her style but she fit well here.  The song is very addictive and I'm going to need this to be played at every party because I got some grinding I need to get out.

BROCKHAMPTON - WASTE
Of all of the amazing songs that are on collective music group BROCKHAMPTON'S first LP "SATURATION", I have to got with the mellow closer of a song WASTE that only features member Bear//Face. The album features production with several different elements but WASTE is entirely different as if its on another album. Bear//Face croons of not knowing who he is and losing the one he loves in a short 2 minute time span. The guitar here is just lovely with a background drumming that progresses the song. It was love at first listen with this album as the production is amazing and Bear//Face's singing just melts my ears.

Jinbo - TT
Jinbo has released the first part of his KRNB2 album which is full of remixes of popular Korean Pop songs. My favorite among the 4 tracks is the remix of TT by Idol group TWICE. Sumin's voice here made me fall in love with her voice once again and couple that with Jinbo's soft melodic voice on a spacey yet poppy beat made me appreciate just how amazing Jinbo is a producer and song-writer. If you're not listening to this album, you need to reevaluate your life.

G Dragon - Superstar
I'm going to need him to stop making music. Every album has 1 or 2 songs that I can relate to so much. I have to throw away a whole damn poem that I wrote 2 years ago cause this man dropped such an amazing song that's around the same premise. The song itself is just amazing. Its a very feel good song that makes you want to scream and shout but then you realize you have no one and you're in fact lonely so at some point you find yourself crying and dancing but enjoying every second of it. I hate this man.

Vince Staples - 745
Big Fish Theory is full of great tracks but one of my favorites and the song I listen to the most is 745. The bass on this song is astounding. I need to blow someone's speakers out while drinking sake and chillin to this. Gotta save my speakers to myself. The lyrics are simple as Vince just talks about all the things he's ever done and been told by to women. The chorus is him asking if he can come pick her up around 7:45. A very simple yet effective song that is very addictive. If you live in Chicago you will find me blasting this in some beat up car this summer.

Overclass - Lazyday
Besides 2 tracks, the rest of the 10th Anniversary album "COLLAGE 4"by HipHop Collective Overclass is amazing. One of my favorite tracks, which was hard to choose, is Lazyday by Verbal Jint  and B-Soap featuring Kim Da Young and Lil Boi. Kricc made the beat and he deserves all of the praise in the world because there's a lot going on but it all comes togetehr for this fire beat that somehow feels like a song I would listen to when I wanna turn up but also just chill the hell out. I enjoy's everyone's verses here but Lil Boi's flow may have taken the cake. Overall 10/10 would bang.

Samuel Seo and Qim Isle - Monk
Samuel Seo and Qim Isle released a collaborative EP called "Elbow" that consists of 5 songs. It was pretty mediocre but Samuel Seo showed his ass on the song Monk. He murdered the beat with his rapping and still had time to sing on it. The beat it self has some nice ass bass. Seo's melodies are way too catchy. Qim Isle's verse was fun to listen to and created a great atmosphere in the song that's cool to listen to but kind of falls flat towards the end. Samuel Seo saves the song but regardless this is still one of my favorites this month. I have a lot of fun listening to it.

JA and Syler - Blueprint
Producer JA and Rapper Syler released the collab EP "JA State Of Mind" this month and I've really been enjoying it. JA's beats continue to amaze me as I'm a new fan to him. The song Blueprint which closes the album is my favorite because the beat is to mellow yet addictive at the same time. Syler's rapping was cool and Mutang's singing here was a nice choice over the beat. The beat shines the most here as JA truly outdid himself. Blueprint ending the album was a smart choice as it feels like a true closer. Once again, 10/10 would bang.

Honorable Mentions

Annale - Showtime
This song came out on the 17th of this month but I only got to it right before the end of this month so if I did get to it earlier, it would have made the actual list. Annale's voice is amazing. I get shivers when I listen to this song. The beat here is so well crafted for not only her vocals but the lyrics of the same and its a shame I haven't heard this on the radio yet. This is a feel good about embracing yourself and not letting the negative people get to you. I truly hate that I found this so late in the month.

BoA - CAMO
The Queen came back to destroy us all again with her new single CAMO. The music video slays and her vocals of course destroyed me. The production on the beat is great as well. I'm pissed this was released to late in the month because this def would have been on the list because its 10/10 would marry.
