Thank God Young Justice is Almost Back

For those who don't know what Young Justice is or those who know but haven't seen it, you need to now. The third season is almost upon us so why not go and watch it so you can join the rest of us enlightened beings when it releases. Or if you're like me, might as well re-watch it for a good time. On a serious note, Young Justice was a great series.

It focused on a new team of sidekicks who wanted to be treated the same as the Justice League. Robin (Dick Grayson), Kid Flash (Wally West), Speedy/Red Arrow (Roy Harper), and Aqualad (Kaldur'ahm) were stoked to learn that they would be joining the League but that didn't happen. They just got a glorified tour of the Hall of Justice. Speedy was upset and decided to strike out on his own, even ending his partnership with Green Arrow. After the other mentioned sidekicks go on an unapproved mission and save Superboy from his test tube, the League decides to help them create a team full of sidekicks. Zatanna, Miss Martian, and Artemis would soon join along with Superboy.

The first season was great. It laid the groundwork for the second as well as the third season when it comes along. Viewers got to grow with the team as the show explored their relationships with each other, the League and them trying to carve their own path in the Super Hero World. Superboy struggled with being a clone to Superman who didn't want to acknowledge his presence. Artemis' family is full of criminals but she wants to make it right with herself. Of course there are other struggles because at the end of the day, they are teens.

Just like in Teen Titans and previous DC animated shows, the characters are what made this series. Each of them had their own drive and backstory that drove the plot forward. In season two even more character joined such as Blue Beetle and Beast Boy who also had troubled pasts that helped shape the series. With Young Justice's darker themes, heroes and storytelling plus what should be going down in season 3, this series is proving to be one of the best DC Animated Series yet. Thank God its almost back.
