One of the biggest arguments in anime is that Subbed Anime, anime with English or any language subtitles, are superior to Dubbed Anime, anime that is voiced in a language other than its original dialect. Its an ongoing war that sometimes defines why an anime is trash or godly. There is no in between. I don't care if the series is Dubbed or Subbed, I just hope its good but today I'll explain why Subs are trash.
People praise subbed anime for its authenticity. The voice actors take pride in their work and work hard to deliver you great content, Those voice actors almost become the personification of the character almost bringing them to life. But, not all subs are great. Some Japanese voice actors go above and beyond and others are plain trash. It may be hard to believe but if you've watched tons of subbed anime, you'd know that there is a difference in acting verses just talking. I have watched plenty of subs and even though I do not speak Japanese, I can tell when a person regardless off language, can act.
Some Japanese voice actors can not act. They don't know how to play the character and great shitty voices for them. There is no way you can sit here an tell me you enjoy Goku's current Japanese voice actor from Dragon Ball Super. He makes Goku sound like a 14 year old kid who hasn't impregnated his wife twice, saved the Universe multiple times and has never kissed his wife. Goku's voice actor is plain annoying. Also have you noticed that most main characters that are mail area ll played by Women. Now that's not a problem because most of them are great like Naruto's voice actor but some are just plain trash.
But what kills me the most about Japanese voice acting is the female characters. Some female characters consistently whine and make all these weird high pitched noises as though they're having sex but really they're just eating takoyaki or laughing. Also 30% of Japanese voice acting is just screams, grunts, and weird noises.The sound is so annoying and unnecessary. Why would anyone want to hear that? Subbed anime isn't always as good as you think. Just because the voice actors are Japanese doesn't mean they're good because you can be a trash actor in any language.
