Chapters 117-125
This volume was very entertaining. I laughed the whole volume. It's been a minute since I've been able to do that with this series. There are chapters that are hilarious but this one had me rolling from start to finish. I will say that the dialogue was weird at times. The character would talk with a southern or country accent that did not match them at all. It happened here and there and I glad. It was such a weird addition and I'm happy it didn't happen throughout the volume.
Now this volume had fresh stories. We got introduced to some new characters who aren't annoying. Tons of story development happened as well as the pacing being really smooth. I like Kozue coming into the picture as a love interest for Junpei but he has no devotion to her like the other girls. Kozue is sort of what I wanted Yui to be. The character you absolutely know will have no chance. Kozue being up for the role of the Heroine of the movie is great because now we get to see how far Aya will go to stop it and finally confess. When Kozue sat next to Junpei at lunch, Aya was definitely threatened and actually tried to stop it. Its mixing things up without implementing several annoying characters or story lines. Amachi is scheming which is bad but good for the story.
So Aya and Junpei go to ask Tsukasa for the role but are met with disappointment. Tsukasa is busy studying to go to Paris. Girl even has to learn French already. It doesn't seem too real that she' leaving but then Junpei gets the call from her to go on a 3 day vacation away from everyone even without telling their parents. Tsukasa even left her phone at home. So they go to the countryside to Tsukasa's old house and the interactions between the two are marvelous. This is Mizuki writing at her best. She knows how to write a scene filled with emotions. Junpei and Tsukasa were basically a couple but Junpei of course failed in the end.
By the way Tsukasa was talking and her actions you would think she wants to have sex but its not ike that. She wants do to the couple thing, which is talk all night long. Junpei bitched out of course but the feeling of anxiety between the two was beyond relevant. So now we're left with Tsukasa may not wanting to go to Paris so she can be with Junpei, and we know her wish is to be his girlfriend again. We're also left with the new triangle of Aya, Junpei, and Kozue as well as what's to happen with the final movie. Things are getting very interesting especially since there are only 5 volumes left. Anything could happen. Please more hilarious antics and emotional interactions. Let Kozue shine.
I rate this volume a 4/5. I hope Kozue becomes the Heroine of the script or maybe Aya will do it and Junpei will be the hero so we'll get Zach and Miri Make a Porno in comic book form. Surprisingly good movie. The next volumes are guaranteed to be amazing so I can not wait.
