Top 10 Songs: Month of February 2016

With all of the amazing music that was released this month I thought that this list would make it to 15 or maybe 20 songs. I was able to condense it down to 13 songs. Enough of me though, time to dive into the music.

Bumkey - Natural Woman/Better Man
I've talked about Bumkey's album on Chicago K Pop but this here is where I let my love for these two songs shine. The live instruments on natural Women give a fresh spin on the album. Bumkey and Chancellor sing of how beautiful this woman is with her natural qualities. Their voices are addicting and leave my heart wanting more. Better Man has a hip hop beat that doesn't go above and beyond. It's slower and melodic to fit Bumkey's voice. The song gets me because its about him wanting to be a better man to his lover and you can tell that he truly means it.

Joe Rhee - Insane
"Girl you're driving me insane/in the membrane". This song was released this month which is also a part of winter but this song definitely brought the heat of summer with it. When I listen to this song I think of what makes summer and in this case, a summer love even though summer isn't mentioned in the lyrics. San E's rap was quick but it was needed and Joe's vice of course delivered a smooth attraction over this dance track. 24 continues to produce great songs.

Innovator - I Remember
Tell me why Innovator isn't under RBW with Mamamoo, Basick, and Esna. This song has RBW written all over it. Innovator's slick and charming lyrics with his smooth flow over a funky beat with Esna's singing is nothing short of amazing. The song is about remembering the times he's shared with a past lover. My favorite part of the song is the arrangement. When you think the song is over, Innovator spits more bars and the beat changes but not too much. I listen to this song multiple times a day because it is just godly.

4Minute - No Love
If you read my review for Act.7  then you know how much I love this song. I can not put it down at all. I continuously play it over and over again. This song will be played at my funeral. The lyrics are great and the singing by Gayoon is my favorite part. The beat is outstanding as well. It's catchy but not bad catchy. This is one of those songs you sing everyday but never get tired of.

Reddy - Think
Reddy gave us this slick R&B and Hip Hop number featuring Jay Park. The song is more R&B but it doesn't matter. What matters is how good it is and the mood I am placed into when listening. It has a chill groove to it that I can relax to once I hear it. The lyrics aren't brazen but just god enough to keep me interested.

G. Soul X San E - Smooth Operator
Is this not one of the best collabs this year so far? G. Soul, San E, and Dj Frants on the Smooth Operator remix or cover, is just amazing. It has this melodic EDM and R&B feel that sells well with G. Soul's image. His voice of course is great with the smooth tones and doesn't go over board. San E has delivered one of the best verses I've listened to in a minute when it comes to featuring. His second verse killed me. DJ Frants deserves all the praise because the beat is my favorite part. I need more G.Soul and DJ Frants.

Brave Girls - Deepened
I never heard of Brave Girls but a friend of mine told me to check them out before their comeback. I liked the song and now here we are. Brave Girls came back with a great song. The lyrics are good, the beat is sick as fuck, the choreo is really good and the rapper of the group impressed me. I wasn't expecting that great rap but I enjoyed it so much. I also like how this is a hip hop song but they didn't got he typical idol hiphop route with all the hiphop inspired clothing. Just simple and to the point and also to my heart.I've been jamming to this since it came out and I will not stop.

CREAM - Love Wit You
There were several songs I wanted to put on this list from their last album CHANGE but I would have had the whole album here. I decided to just go with Love Wit You because its the most catchy with good lyrics. The song is about being in love to put it simply. My favorite thing about the song is the beat. Its so upbeat and is comprised of some interesting components that you wouldn't necessarily hear in a hip hop song. This song is way too addicting and needs to leave this Earth.

Microdot - Celebrate
The song is about celebrating and just having fun. Microdot has just gotten so much fame and money so he raps about buying his first car, getting a bigger house and celebrating the good times. The beat is sick. Upon my first listen, within the first few seconds I was crip walking. If you don't know what that is, look it up. definitely a great banger for the season. When spring rolls around this will be blasted out of my car windows.

Mamamoo - 1cm Pride/Words Don't Come Easy
1cm Pride is catchy as fuck. That old west coast Dr. Dre beat gets me everything I listen to it. I can just imagine myself blasting that in my car. Especially the ending with the crazy beat change. Words don't Come easy is so damn sensual. The girls voices are giving me chills every time I hear it. The beat is just soothing. The lyrics are good as well. I can fall asleep to this song every night.

SCARY'P X Ex8er - Trumprap Part 2
This song is such a banger. The beat alone is what really hooked me. The trumpets and the drums are so much love. It is only complimented by Ex8er, Justhis, and Nucksal fast paced flow with vibrant lyrics. The beat is not a turn up type in terms of like a Jay Park song but it does get turnt. I can't stop jamming to this song from their album 8. Check out the whole album but this song in particular is great.

NAO - Fool To Love
NAO is a Black European artist and this is her latest single. I can not get enough of this song. The beat is my favorite part of it. Its like a electropop and R&B joint. Her voice is very clear and has a certain charm to it. The song is about being a fool to love a person who didn't deserve her love. The song is extremely good and I advise you all to check it out. I've been putting it in so many playlist.

Nucksal - The Villains
The beat is so sick. This is what drew me into the song before the VMC fam started sounding off lyrical bullets. It gives you the sense of being in a movie when the villains are just doing their thing. I can truly make all my diabolical plans to this song here. This song needs to be in a video game.
