Underrated Albums of 2015: First Half

2015 has brought us some really good music as well as some that is very forgettable. I'm here to talk about a few albums that are very underrated. I thoroughly enjoyed these albums but it seems they were left behind even though they were really good. Let me explain why. THESE ARE NOT THE REFLECTIONS OF BLERDSONLINE.COM BUT MINE, GARSERTHECLOWN!!

Tarin - In The Room

Tarin is a member of the Korean Indie group Vanilla Acoustic. She released her solo album In The Room earlier this year. Tarin is a great artist. Her voice is lovely and soothing. You can tell that her voice and music come straight from the soul. Her R&B album has to a great one this year. It is actually one of the best R&B albums I have heard. The production is crisp and the beats are great. Tarin's album is one to chill to as well as sing your heart out to. I actually can't chose a favorite song. All of them are amazing and good to listen to. This album is one to be heard and no explained to. One last thing is that she definitely beat out a lot of pop artist albums this year.

Yankie - Andre

I was not expecting this album. I first heard Yankie on Gaeko's album RedinGray. Then again on Cheers with Gaeko, Beenzino, and Babylon. When Andre was announced I was looking forward to it but I was not ready for how good it is. Yankie has a great flow that will have you listening and thinking you have been a fan for the longest even though you haven't. Yankie gets very personal on the album as he talks about his career in music and business. How he contemplated how his music career would survive while working and trying to support his family. Yankie kept it real on this album but he also has some bangers like Spell My Name Right, Sold Out, and Prometheus. A great hip hop album that no one saw coming seems to be left in the dust.

Dongwoon - Kimishika

All BEAST fans wanted to know who was going to be the next member to release a solo album. After Hyunseung, Dongwoon soon followed with a Japanese debut. His mini album Kimishika is one to listen to. Dongwoon is able to let his voice shine on all of the songs. One would forget how far his vocals could go but remember on this album. On the intro song alone Preludio, he sings in different ranges. The rest of the album follows suit for what is an amazing show of not only his vocals but emotion. Dongwoon really showed his true colors with this and truly is underrated. He's one of the best singers in Korea and Japan. Nonetheless his fans do enjoy it.

Risso Tra La La
Risso's vice is very high not annoyingly high. She sings with such tenacity like a bird. This is her very strong point. If you have been on this blog before then you know that the majority of Korean Artist I review are pop and hip hop. Risso is different. She has a very fresh style that I enjoy. I'm not a big fan Electronica but Risso is able to deliver with electric beats and a little of funk to coexist with her voice.  The mood of the album is pretty light and chill. I definitely recommend this album as a must listen to. An album you will not forget.

Fiestar - Black Label
The 5 member girl group Fiestar finally released their first mini album this year. The mini album consist of 6 songs including the lead single You're Pitiful. I love this song. Its not the typical song were the girls are lost in love over a cheater but actually happy and glad that he is gone. They don't want to see him any more be cause he is a pitiful man. This really is a good song and it was a great way to open up the album. This was a great album that was overlooked. Fiestar have definitely found their sound and made it into a good album. The R&B and Pop mix is something I'm glad I listened for. The girls really need more recognition for this album.

G. Soul - Coming Home

After 15 years of training, G. Soul made his debut back in January with his debut mini album Coming Home. This album was great. Pure R&B from the heart. Not only did he write but he also produced some of the songs. G. Soul's voice is amazing. He can match any tempo and the feeling he outs into it really shows how much of his soul he puts into his work. Even though he is a rookie artist his work is more than beginners luck. He has nearly perfected his craft.  I feel his album was overlooked due to the emergence of lots of pop idols but this is no doubt one o my favorite R&B albums this year.

Bewhy - Time Travel

I only knew Bewhy through C Jamm and a few songs I heard him on. I didn't really see anything special. With his album Time travel, saw everything. He really is a good rapper. His ability to rap with breaks is impressive. I haven't seen a new rapper do this in quite some time. the man can damn near rap a whole song without a break or chorus. On top of that his flow is really good. My favorite song is No Sky Is The Limit with Don Mills. He's basically saying that his rise to fame has no height and that he will continue to break records and word of mouth. There is no stopping him. I can honestly say that with Bewhy on the scene, Korean Hip Hop is good hands. This was a great album that should seriously get more recognition even though he is an underground rapper.
