Hara - Alohara Album Review

Hara from Korean Pop group Kara has released her solo debut album. Of all the members I never thought Hara would release a solo album. Nonetheless it is here and I am loving it. I am enjoying the feel of the album. It has a completely different view from Kara which is a great thing. Alohara is in the middle of being Pop and Hip Hop. Its definitely pop but it has a lot of Hip Hop elements that blends with Hara's own style.

La La La is my favorite song. It is heavily Hip Hop influenced which is good. The rap from Matthew is pretty good as well. He has a nice deep voice that fits the tone of the song. Hara isn't known for having a voice that can shatter glass but she can sing nonetheless. This album uses great use of that. All of the songs fit her range of singing and compliments that. Hara did a good job of making songs that don't fit her. This might be a reason why Kara is failing lately.

Hara truly showed her true colors with this album. This one is something I will listen to forever. Choco Chip Cookies, La La La, and Gu Hara are songs that I can turn up to and freak people out to as I ride around in my car. Youngji on How Is It was good. I enjoyed her rap. Rainy Days is a good song as well. I enjoyed the entire thing. I hope Hara does well with this album and that she promotes as a solo artist in the future as well. I give this mini album a 3.5/5.

  1. I don't understand why these K Pop singers and rappers just don't drop a mixtape or ep rather then a mini album. That lowkey bugs me, is a mini album the norm for K Poppers and Rappers? Tell them to make full albums, mixtapes, or eps dammit! Also what's the point of having these groups if they're going to do solo albums anyways ? I need answers sway!!! - Based T Sosa Migos Ban Locomotive

    1. Mini albums are common among the pop stars. The rappers do drop mixtapes and full length albums. In terms of groups, majority debut in music within in a group. Sometimes its easy since groups are very popular over there. After awhile they drop their own stuff that is from their perspective and not the group. Hara has been in Kara for 8 years now. She's the first to release solo stuff that isn't related to the group.
