Poem - The Sun Will Shine by Garser Dismuke

Here is another free poem from Garser Dismuke. On this poem I let it all out about something that I finally got over. Its hard to explain but the poem is as reads. Whatever you think from reading this is true. It actually happened.

Truth be told I’ll be waiting until the sun comes up

Waiting for the moment you look at me and smile

The smile that sends my emotions into array due to my love for you

Or maybe it’s because we could never be together

A couple who would be perfect for eternity

Models for others to look at and go “I want a relationship like that”

But this is just a dream played over and over in my head

You look at me as a friend, someone you can tell your feelings to

I’m not that guy. I don’t want to be bound to you as a friend

I want to be the person who you are talking about at 1 am to you female friends

But only good things please, they don’t need to know my other personality

I’m sick of how she mistreats you or how she called you by the wrong name during intercourse

Please lets not talk about sex. I can barely keep my hands to myself as it is

I don’t want to know how she touches you or even picture her because it should be me

I keep playing these mental images of us every single second yet this is wrong

Would I be wrong to talk to you while you have a girlfriend?

Am I wrong for trying to think you are confused and really need me?

Am I wrong for coming on so strong and embarrassing myself in front of my friends and yours?

Actually I don’t think it would be wrong

You talk of her all the time but I never see her

Your friends know you have a girlfriend but have they seen her yet?

Was it that girl you were walking with that time you ignored me in the hallway?

I looked at you but you kept on walking

Not even a smile, a hello, or introduce me to her

I feel like you’re keeping us separate because you like us both

We both bring the same qualities to the table yet she came first

I was too late and lost the gamble

My feelings are distraught as you distance yourself from me

Have you deleted my kik? I still have yours. I don’t use it cause I have nothing to say but

Its nice to still have it for “just in case”

We don’t talk any more but I’m slowly getting over you

Yoon Mirae is helping with “As Time Goes By” and “She Could Never Be Me”

Because as time goes by you will notice that she will never be me and that you failed

Now I’ll be waiting for the sun to come up and shine a better light on me 

A Sun that is not your smile
