Jay Park - EVOLUTION Album Review

So I've been waiting for Jay Park to release an album for exactly a year and 4 months. He released single after single after single. Joah, Like 2 Party, Metronome, and just in the past month So Good and The Promise. I thought this nigga was going the Dr. Dre route was just going to keep leading us on. But thankfully he didn't. A week or two ago he announced the album date and track list. I just quickly want to talk about the track list.

I looked at it and he had all of the singles he released on there except for Taekwondo. Don't know why it wasn't on there. I was disappointed at first but soon I got over it with other songs on the album.  So the 13th song is Success Crazed featuring LOCO, GRAY, and Simon Dominic. I'm thinking this shit is going to be fire because of the star power and then there was another name. Trinidad James made it to Seoul, South Korea. I thought this could go two ways. Either good or bad. The song is nothing but a hype song about money and bitches. I wasn't expecting anything so I leaned toward his verse being good, but it wasn't. His verse was short and he repeated one line several times. The line was "Asian bitches shakin, pussy niggas hatin". My reaction was "hell yeah my nigga get it in, Asian bitches for life (I don't condone this language)". I like the line but he said it too much. Also his verse was very lacking. So was Gray's voice. I didn't care for his verse.

Now I don't mind if rappers talk about money and females but when they do it all the time it gets very annoying. So the rest of the album is pretty damn good. In 1hunnit he states that he's not K-pop. He's just a Korean Rapper. You can obviously point this out in his music. He doesn't have a vibe to him that makes him like the rest. He and AOMG are their own artist. They write and produce their own music unlike a lot of Korean artist. All of the songs on this album were very well written and composed. Jay Park and AOMG clearly bring out their true emotions when rapping and singing. How come CRUSH wasn't on the album. He and Dok2.

Besides the in your face songs like Success Crazed, 1hunnit and GGG, he also has the love songs we love. Joah, The Promise and the fun song So Good are also on the album. If you're a girl then you should be loving this. Especially the song Ride Me. This right here is a panty dropper. I'm not gay but my drawls almost came off on some Cream Corn stuff. If you watched the Black Dynamite television show than you know what I mean. This album was really good though. I have to give it a proper 9 out of 10. I think the album would have been better if we didn't know all of the songs on the album before its release. I'm talking about the singles he released. But overall the album was amazing.  I highly recommend this album. Now its time for me to listen to the new BoA album.
