I remember back in 2010 I had went into Borders book store and I was going to buy some manga. I had brought a pen and some paper because I was also going to jot down a few manga titles for my Christmas list. Don't judge me, I was 13 at the time. On the list there was Chibi Vampire, Dance in the Vampire Bund, and of course Gintama. On Christmas day I read Gintama volume 1 and 2 and the rest. Now it is the year 2014 and I currently have 12 out of the licensed 23 volumes. Today I just ordered 13, 14, and 15 from Barnes&Noble. I'm only 8 volumes away from having all of the English volumes. I don't want it to end there. I want to collect Gintama for as long as the manga is currently ongoing. There are 54 volumes out in Japan, and 31 in French. I want the English volumes to be at 31 or almost 54 but Viz just stopped printing it. Why Viz Why? Gintama is the funniest Shonen manga of all time. The characters are spectacular and the story is always a joy. No matter what happens in Gintama you will always shed a tear, crack a smile, and shout a laugh. To not be able to collect all of the Gintama volumes is very disappointing. Now this isn't a rant but an expression of my feelings. Unless I buy the French volumes I will never be able to hold a Gintama volume again once I get 23. I don't want to read it in french. My point is that Viz - if you see this- to reconsider picking Gintama back up. When I say this I'm not just thinking of myself. I'm speaking of all American Gintama manga fans. You were able to get Chibi Vampire so why not Gintama? At the end of the day I just want to read Gintama under a tree in summer for as long as I can. So just think about this decision Viz.
