Life of AniTwitter

Twittter, probably the most popular social media website out there. There's many, many different groups of people on Twitter, from people who like music, to people who like sports, well, you get the idea. But I'm here to talk about one thing. Anime. Now, who doesn't like anime? Yeah, I'm pretty sure we all do. But anime isn't what is really bothering me. No, it's the fans of anime that roam on Twitter. Now before you start to say that I hate people, let me tell you my experiences. I'm sure a lot of you can relate.

Let me start off by saying that you should keep opinions to a minimum. Fans will attack you. Here's an example. Rememeber Sword Art Online's airing on Toonami last year? That was a fun experience for me. I'm totally being sarcastic. There was no way you could ever tweet about that show without someone jumping down your throat and saying something totally negative. We get it. Kirito's cousin had a thing for him. We ALL know it. The problem wasn't the relatioship itself in the anime. The problem were the dumb so-called "fans" about it. You don't need to tell me every ten seconds that it's incest. First of all, if you're going to say something negative about a show, remember what your moms taught you about if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all, and second, leave me alone. Knowing I'm a fan of the show doesn't give you the right to come to me and complain to me about how much you dislike it. Okay, you hate it. Congratulations for you. Now move on with your lives. The fact that you troll people like that for no good reason apparently, shows that you're just tough on the Internet, like most anime fans are. Let me get into this now.

Anime fans have a tendency to use anime avi's on Twitter. That's not a problem at all. You want to use your favorite character, or some anime picture that might be cool, by all means, go ahead. No one is telling you not to. Not all anime fans are mean. I will give them that. Some are so sweet and so nice, and even when they discuss about anime with you, it's more like a debate, and not a screaming match that uses curses every ten seconds. Some I respect so much, and some I've made great friends with. Now for the others, they can be a cruel batch. "Oh, why do you call yourself an anime fan if you just like Dragonball Z and Naruto." Well, ever think that maybe they're new to the genre, so they see the popualr anime and decide to watch that? Now I know why people don't want to watch anime, or even associate themselves with it. Reason being is because asshole fans drive them away from it. Hell, I gave up watching some anime because the fanbase pissed me off to no extent. One kid told me that I'm, and I quote "delusional", because I said I think that Mekakucity Actors is better than JoJo's Bizarre Advetures for the Spring Season. So that's my opinion. Doesn't mean you haven the right to throw a shit fit and get all pissy. Prefrences man. Everyone should know that/ Now back to what I was stating earlier. Right, you can use anime avi's, but don't think you're tough because you have one. Show your face every once in a while. I have before. I even put anime characters next to myself in my avi. Photoshop is amazing. But before I go off topic (again), would it kill you to show your face? Or better yet, don't act tough because you have the avi. That doesn't make you tough. That makes you a coward because you think you're toguh shit because you throw hate on the Intenet, and because you're on the Internet and no one can attack you physically. I'm pretty sure about 60%-70% wouldn't pull this stunt in the outside world like you do on the Internet. Be respectful, and be mannerful. It's common curtiousy. Treat others like you would want to be treated. We should of all learned this back in grade school.

Back to what I was saying earlier with opinions, that seems to be the number one issue with why so much hate is on AniTwitter. Ever heard the term "agree to disagree?" You should just leave it at that. Why get into a petty argument over something so minor and insignificant? It's not like it's ever going to benefit you in life. You won an argument after cursing someone out and making them think "are all anime fans like this?" or "should I even continue to watch anime if all I do is get yelled at when I state an opinion." Most people say it doesn't bother them, but deep down, it bothers you. Don't lie. Lying to yourself only makes matters worse, and it won't make you have any progress in solving the situation. I thought the same thing at once. I thought to myself "is it even worth it anymore? Why watch anime?" So I gave it up for a couple of weeks, because the pressure of all the hate that got to me sadly. I wanted nothing to do with it. This was a copule of years ago to anyone that is curious and wants to know. But, after some thinking, I realized I was being idiotic and shouldn't give up something I love because of starngers on the Internet. I bounced back. Some people don't recover unfortunantly. I guess that's just the way it is and we can't change their minds. But to think that another person bullied someone into not liking somethig anymore that they used to love is beyond low. That's what AniTwitter mostly consits of. There is however a postive side to AniTwitter.

Now for the positive side. There's a lot of nice people on there also. Those are the ones I like to associate myself with, and you should do the same also. I've had fans tell me why they don't like a certain show, but in a respectful manner. They've debated with me. See how I said "debated" and not "argued." They're entirely two different words, but most people forget that. Anyways, if you're looking for a debate, or want to talk about something anime related with these people, by all means, they're your people. Your friends. They will defend you if hate comes your way. People have backed me up before, and I've done the same for them. It works both ways. Most haters will usually gang up on people because they know they're defensless. It's sad that even on the Interent this happens. I guess what they say is right. Once a hater, always a hater. But you know what? You should never let haters get to you. They're playing with your mind, and it never ends good. So remember at the end of the day who you want to associate yourself with on AniTwitter, and make the right decision. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." I can tell you all this, but I can't force you to do so. And don't be that smartass and say "well you can put the horse's head inside of the water, then it will be forced to drink", because I have heard that before. Well, that's basically my take on AniTwitter, from all the negatives to the positives. Until next time guys.
