So 2NE1 finally released the MV for Gotta Be You. I've been waiting on this since the HAPPY and Come Back Home MVs came out. I knew that Gotta BE You would be the last or third to get a music video. So it released to day and I was hyped. But it wasn't what I expected. I don't know what is going on in this music video. At one point CL had yellow skin, Minzy was walking past a colt, and Bom and Dara were just walking around. The production was really lame. I didn't get how painfully colored walls matched what Gotta Be You is. This could have been way better. I wasn't expecting it to be dance heavy like most of their MVs but more of a story like Come Back Home. The story was not there. It seems like the story tired to come into play yet the colored walls kept pushing it away.
This felt very lazy to me. It feels like they just gave us something because it was promised or better yet expected. We all knew we were going to get a MV but not this. This is low grade for 2NE1. Their MV's are always great yet this one was whatever. I won't be watching this video again. I did like a few things though. The part were Dara was in the room full of payphones was good. I felt like the phone should have rung and she should have picked it up and slammed it as the bass dropped. That would have been epic. When CL is standing in the rain was great put it was apart of the story so it didn't really match anything else but the Dara part. And lastly the girls them selves were great. The outfits are always nice so no problem there. The song itself is and the girls is what made this video for me. I don't care for anything else. If I had to rate this it would be a 5 out of 10. IT could have been way better. That's it guys and I will be doing a review for the Queen, Namie Amuro's Can You Celebrate new music video. Stay tuned for that.
