Well, here it is. This is what started it all for me into anime. The old weekday and Saturday prime time shows of the currently running Toonami.

Yes Toonami. As far back as I can remember, Toonami has always been the gateway into anime for me. I keep telling myself that it was Yu-Gi-Oh! that got me into anime. I have to stop. It was actually One Piece, Zatch Bell, and Naruto that made me fall in love with anime. Those anime I needed to be home Saturday night to watch. I wouldn't like anybody disturbing me, and as harsh as that sounds, it was kind of the truth. Especially during Naruto. This is one of my favorite Toonami shows of all time (but that's a story for another day.)

Without Toonami's resurrection in April of 2012, I don't know if I would of got back into anime altogether. Quite frankly, I didn't watch that much anime during that whole gap. All I watched was Dragonball Z and Naruto Shippuden. But then this came back. My childhood. It is always referred to as "the night no 90s kid slept." I call it "the night no anime fan should have missed." When this came back, I was so happy. I couldn't believe. It was T.O.M., on the Absolution, doing his thing. Before that, I've haven't heard that name in so many years. But here he was. On my TV screen, introducing shows like Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing and Outlaw Star. Even though all I watched that night was Dragonball Z and Gundam Wing, it is a memory that I will never forget of.

So thank you Toonami. I know I like to riff on you a lot, but keep strong, and I hope you nothing but the best. Until next time, stay gold. Bang.
