A while back we talked about Jesse Aaronson and his struggles with mental illness to become a major hero. The person we haven't talked about is his brother Chris. Chris is the older brother to Jesse and is also gifted with mutant abilities. He has the ability to send out a psychic wave that protects him from psychics as well as scramble the mutant abilities of others.The thing about Chris is he was a bad seed from the start. He was always the problem child for his parents. That reached a boiling point when he decided to kill his parents during a car ride on a whim. After this he and his brother separated. Jesse went on to suffer through torture but what happened to Chris was never fully revealed. What we do know is that he became affiliated with organized crime.
He was eventually offered a position to join Hellions, a team led by Emma Frost (evil point in her life) made up of teenage mutants. Chris is too much of a bad ass for that so he declined her offer and continued with organized crime from what we know.
Later Chris forms his own version of Hellions to help complete his plan of holding countries for ransom. Chris had learned about a mutant known as Armageddon Man who had the ability to cause natural disasters. He had been locked away in a stasis chamber created by multiple countries because they feared one day he could cause a major catastrophe. Chris had managed to free him but learned that the mutant was brain dead. He created a device that let him control Armageddon Man with his own powers.
When Jesse and X-Factor first came into contact with Chris he almost managed to convince Jesse that joining him was the right thing to do. Jesse however came to realize that Chris was a sociopath that would murder anyone to get his way including his own team members. On one occasions he had his mind transferred into the mind of Domino, one of his team members. Just so X-Factor couldn't discover his plans. Maybe if Chris had gotten the psychiatric help Jesse did, he could have been a hero too.
After he was defeated we didn't hear from Chris for a while. Considering we saw Jesse be crucified only to learn he survived after 10 years and became a mutant rights activist it's not surprising Chris wasn't heard from for a long time either. When Chris finally reappeared he was stripped of his mutant powers by Scarlet Witch during M-Day. What happened after that is a mystery.
