Manga Spotlight: Kimi No Iru Machi

Spoiler warning: I don’t spoil the story as a whole but I spoil the story just a bit and some of the pictures that I use might be seen as spoilers.

So, Kimi No Iru Machi, A town where you live, is about a love story between Haruto and Eba. One day, out of the blue Eba comes to live with Haruto in Hiroshima. At first Haruto saw Eba as an annoyance. She really likes Haruto from the get go, but overtime he begins to fall in love with her. While this was happening Haruto found out that they met before as kids and Haruto had a crush on another girl named Nanami.

A girl by the name of Kikukawa had a crush on Haruto as well. A lot of stuff goes down in the beginning of the manga but Eba eventually goes back to Tokyo and Haruto decides to chase after her, so he transfers to a school in Tokyo. The story gets interesting once that happens.

I don’t want to spoil the story to much, so let me try to be as vague as possible. After the first 80 chapters the story begins to get really interesting. The manga goes from being a comedy romance manga to being a dramatic romance manga. Then eventually you get a mix of drama and comedy with a twist of lewd elements towards the end of the manga.

I really like the fact that Haruto throws caution to the wind to go after the girl that he loves. I really didn’t like Eba at first but, as the story continues she gains my approval. Eba is wifey material for sure. There are also some couples you might “ship” as well (I say this because Haruto dates another girl due to circumstances, but there are other characters that get together). Just be prepared for an emotional roller coaster ride as you read this manga.

Overall Kimi No Iru Machi is pretty dope. I love this series and I recommend it to anyone that likes romance manga. Even if you don’t like romance manga give it a try, it’s a pretty good read. Only 261 chapters, most chapters are only 19 pages anyways, it’s an easy read. The anime is good but only covers the juicy parts of the beginning towards middle of the manga. The anime is only 12 episodes so that is an easy watch.
