Top 5 Of The Biggest Burials By The WWE This Decade

This decade has seen what appears to be the deterioration of the current WWE product that’s littered with mostly meaningless filler matches and segments and scripted promos that sound so awful. Not to mention young full-time wrestlers getting buried by old, washed up part-timers.

Young full-time talent especially ones from NXT nowadays are often buried on the main roster by The WWE either being in horrendous segments or meaningless filler matches because the company is deliberately avoiding trying to create real big stars.

Here now are top 5 of the biggest burials by The WWE this decade.

1. CM Punk - In 2011, CM Punk was arguably the most talented wrestler on the roster who was at the peak of his career due to his unstoppable winning streak during “The Summer Of Punk”. He was about to become a big star in the company when The WWE decided to use their golden corporate puppet Triple H to bring an immediate halt to Punk’s momentum by beating him at “Night Of Champions” effectively burying CM Punk’s career which was the beginning of the end of Punk’s wrestling career altogether.

2. Bobby Lashley - When Bobby Lashley returned to WWE for the first time this year in about a decade, fans were excited to see him return, but he was immediately thrown into meaningless filler tag matches and then just a few weeks ago on Raw, he was thrown into a horrible and very disgusting segment when Sami Zayn brought out Bobby’s “sisters” in the form of indie wrestling guys in drags and this definitely angered many wrestling fans who watched it live and at home. Eventually Bobby came out and beat up the “sisters”, but the damage had already been done as the entire filler segment concocted by The WWE had basically buried his career with this horrendous segment.

3. Bayley - When Bayley was called up to the main roster of Raw from NXT back in 2016, she was given an immediate push and became Raw Women’s Champion, but her reign was very short as she dropped the belt to Alexa Bliss and then shortly after, The WWE aired a segment that would become one of the worst in WWE history called “Bayley: This Is Your Life” where they had in the ring Bayley’s memorabilia as well as her teacher, ex-boyfriend, and ex-friend who were just horrible actors that wrestling legend Booker T said what everyone that was live and at home watching were thinking by saying, “this is hard to watch”. And as soon as Bayley came out, she fights Bliss, but gets overtaken and eventually beat down with The Kendo Stick. This entire filler segment was a complete waste of everybody’s time and The WWE deliberately character assassinated and buried Bayley with this awful filler segment and she hasn’t recovered from it since then.

4. Zach Ryder - Back in 2011, Zach Ryder felt that he wasn’t getting the push that he felt that he had deserved by The WWE, so he decided to turn to social media and hosted a web series called “Z: True Long Island Story” where he asked the fans that were watching his web series to get The WWE to push him and soon after, chants of “We Want Ryder” sprang out throughout the arena and The WWE were forced to give Ryder the push that they clearly didn’t want to give him. They then decided to use their then- golden boy John Cena to stifle the momentum that Ryder was getting and then using Kane to push him off the stage while in a wheelchair and The WWE deliberately buried him by doing this because he got over when they did not want him to get over. He did surprise people by winning The Intercontinental Title at Wrestlemania 32, but he was buried again by dropping the belt to The Miz the next night on Raw. His career will never be the same.

5. Kevin Owens - Kevin Owens is a young full-time wrestler who was enjoying his reign as Universal Champion when he was thrown into a program with an old washed up part-timer in Goldberg. At one of the worst PPVs in WWE history at Fastlane 2017, Kevin Owens was buried by being shockingly defeated in the Universal Championship against the old washed-up part-timer in Goldberg in a 22 second glorified squash that made many wrestling fans angry at not only Goldberg, but also The WWE for having booked Goldberg to go over Kevin Owens. Kevin Owens was buried as a result of this squash defeat and he hasn’t recovered from it since that time.

The Conclusion - These young full-time wrestlers wanna showcase everything they got on the main roster, but The WWE constantly stifles and buries them so that they’ll never be a real big star.
