Recently I saw a trailer for the new Far Cry game because a friend told me it seemed like it was meant for me. Now I'll be honest, I've never played a Far Cry game at all because it just didn't seem like my cup of tea. A lot of co-op first person shooting, going to foreign lands and murdering the people who live there, not really my thing. But then I sat down and watched the trailer for Far Cry 5 and let me tell you, I am hype for this one. I might even buy the gold edition.
The game is set in the American Midwest, I'm set in the American Midwest. The main game is a group of Christian Fundamentalist, there's totally Christian Fundamentalist around here. I'm going to love this, this is going to be so damn fun. You get to go around killing what can only be described as rednecks trapped in a time loop, I live around rednecks trapped in a time loop.
I didn't see anything racist or sexist in the game from the villains. They mostly dragged people out of their homes and forcefully baptized them but that's okay. I know there's gonna be some, and if there's one place I'm a fan of racism at, it's in video games. I love it when I'm playing Skyrim and a shop keep tells my Redguard not to steal. I love when I'm playing Watch Dogs 2 and Marcus has to tell people he's black and proud or not to count Oakland out. I want all that racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia and all the other icism and phobias.
See at first I didn't care but then I saw that there was an online petition demanding the game be cancelled. See the problem people have is that it paints Conservative Christians in a poor light. No it doesn't, you did that to yourselves. With your burning of black churches and mosques, your gay conversion camps and determination to send abortions back to the dark ages. Nobody is painting you anyway you didn't ask to be painted. As the rapper YG once said of President Donald Trump, "yo racist ass did too much." This is all on you people. Yes, I mean you people.
Oh, then there's the complain that Ubisoft is making gamers seem racist and uneducated, but you did that to yourself too. I don't even get that complaint really. They didn't even put out a game where the villains were racist and sexist gamers. Assassins Creed: Gamergate would be hype. In all seriousness, Watch Dogs 2 was a much better game than the first and critics all agree on that. But, countless reddit posts and tweets about diversity being forced down your the throats and boycotting the game because Marcus is a black man made you seem racist, not Ubisoft. Gamergate, was not organized by big gaming to make gamers look sexist. Harassing women journalist and sending threats of rape and death made you look sexist.
I hope this game is full of hate. I want the game to show the world what Christian Conservative American Gamers are all about. Because this is what you're all about. Nobody is painting some unrealistic picture of you all. You told Ubisoft "make sure you get my good side" and your good side was a horrendous crater filled wasteland of hate. How is Ubisoft wrong for giving you exactly what you asked for? It's like people who voted Trump and are now finding out they're about to lose their healthcare, you got what you asked for. I might buy it day one. Drop some more trailers focusing on the hate and I might just preorder it. I hope it shows all of this.
