Poem: I'm So Wavy 2015 - Garser Dismuke

“I’m so wavy like my life has been permed bitch”
                                                                  - Jay Park

I’m so wavy cause I rock Pokemon hats like Snorlax with Sailor Moon Slippers
People see me, they stare and they point
I’m so wavy cause I know every Wonder Girls song
I Know every song like the back of my hand. I’ not weird nor am I not black but just living
I’m so wavy cause I got the juice
I said I got the juice meaning I blast music out my car and turn heads
                                                                                    and not get pulled over
and still get turnt like a Ferris wheel
Yu-Gi-Oh cards in my pocket, wavy
Was purple hair didn’t care, wavy
Cowboy boots on the job, super wavy

My aura glows like the sun on a bright summer morning
The steps I take shake the awkwardness in people living by the standard
My eyes firm like the stare of an owl

Anime Key chains hanging from my 2NE1 pink lanyard
SISTAR posters on my wall
My hair fluffed and untamed like a lion’s mane

The looks I get just feed into my energy
It flows deep into my veins and shines through my pores
My full power can never be released because no one is ready for a young black male with interest in the arts of foreign lands

I quote lines said by fictional characters
I sing Namie Amuro will all my heart
I believe in being a Power Ranger

There is a mold that my body does not fit in
A stigma that my brain can not process
And an image I will never live to be
