Upcoming Japanese Game Releases in North America (Week of 4/24/16)

Hey gamers! Wanted to start a new segment here on Japanese games released here in America. Now I know a lot of our readers play games and even read our game reviews along with liking anime, so have I got the list just for you. Are you bored or stuck on a game and want to see what is coming out weekly but don't know where to go to do so? Well, this is just a pilot article, but here I will list upcoming Japanese games released in America for your system along with a little synopsis of what it is about. Hope you enjoy this, and please comment if you want me to continue this segment. (NOTE: List does not include Indie Games)

CORPSE PARTY (PC)- 4/25/16


Originally released in Japan on PC in 2008 and PSP in 2011, Corpse Party is a horror-survival game that is more than meets the eye. The player takes control of nine characters who have been spilt up into different groups of two or three, being trapped inside an elementary school full of vengeful spirits and other mysteries and oh yeah, CORPSES. As the students walk around the school examining different kinds of objects and whatnot, the horror tale of 50 years begins to unfold. Players choices determine which ending is viewed, that is however, if any of the characters survive the tale.

HOTARU NO NIKKI: htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diaries (PC)- 4/25/16


Originally released on the PS Vita in America in early 2015, Hoatru no Nikki is a story that takes place on December 31, 9999 when a young amnesiac girl named Mion wakes up at the bottom of a dark ruins within a desolate world. Unsure of where to go, Mion follows two fireflies, one being lightness and the other being darkness, as they guide her through a maze throughout the ruins.


Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart (PC)- 4/26/16


Another game originally released on the PS Vita, Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart stars the Hyperdimension Neptunia character, Noire, also known as Black Heart, through a world similar to her home world of Gameindustri called Gamarket. Her rivals goddess (Purple Heart, White Heart and Green Heart), are also here and battle each other for hegemony in this world as they did in their home world. Just as Black Heart seems to control this new world, the goddesses powers are stolen by an unknown force. Can the goddesses regain their powers by working together and stop this mysterious force from destroying Gamarket?
 
 
Stranger of Sword City (PS Vita)- 4/26/16
 
 

 
Released earlier this year in America on XBOX One, Stranger of Sword City comes slicing into you PS Vita. Stranger of Sword City is a JRPG that features different classes of characters, such as humans, elves dwarfs, etc. Your flight crashes and lands through a mysterious portal. Being the only survivor of the crash, you wake up in a unfamiliar land never before seen to you. The land is called Escario, known as the city of swords. Branded the Chosen One, you must defend this land, choosing your allegiances carefully as you explore this land for a way back home.
 
 
Lost Reavers (Wii U)- 4/28/16
 
 
 
Lost Reavers is a free-to-play online multiplayer game by Bandai Namco Entertainment, who published games here such as Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, and Sword Art Online: Lost Song. Team up with your friends online to battle and take down powerful enemies and deactivate various traps and solve other puzzles to reach the treasure that lies within the deepest part of the stage. Return from the dungeon to share your spoils with your teammates!
 
 
Mini Mario and Friends: amiibo Challenge (Nintendo 3DS, Wii U)- 4/28/18
 
 
 
Experience Mario like you never seen him before, this time along with all his friends and even enemies! With 11 amiibo figures based on the Mario franchise, guide Mario and his companions through more than 50 Levels of chaos and mayhem! With each amiibo you choose, the level will be different and each amiibo character has their own power, for example, Yoshi can eat his enemies and Luigi can jump to high places to reach an exit.
