5 Reasons Digimon is Better Than Pokemon

One debate that will rage until the end of time is: Pokemon vs Digimon. Everyone wants to know which one is better. Well, the answer is obviously Digimon. Here's a list of 5 reasons that Digimon is just plain better than Pokemon.

1. There's an Ending: Pokemon never actually ends. It just continues in a new region. Digimon Characters grow up and move on with their life. They don't just go to a new region. It's not always a happy ending either. In the end they all have to go back to life and it's not always a good life. Sometimes they make it better with the lessons they learned, but it's not perfect.

2. Characters Age: Why is Ash still 10? Nobody in the Digimon universe stays the same age forever. Maybe that's why they didn't have the lasting popularity but it makes a big difference when you can see the characters age next to you. It was cool because I was able to see Tai and Matt start high school before I did, that makes sense because they're older than me. I would have been in class with Davis and Cody. Also why don't characters in Pokemon attend school?

3. The Villains: Team Rocket isn't really dangerous. They're a group of bums that keep trying to capture a regular Pikachu from a 10 year old kid. A regular Pikachu that can just be caught in the woods. There's no shortage of them. They let this distract them from taking over the world. Meanwhile, Digimon almost take over the world regularly and sometimes they actually do. Digimon villains will shot a kid in the face. They don't play.

4. Adult Themes: I'm not saying sex and drugs are a big part of the Digimon Universe. But, I'll tell you what is. Murder and mayhem. People get murdered in this universe. People die other ways too, but there are murders in the Digimon universe. There's also more developed story telling because it isn't afraid to get into things like divorce, unhappy marriages, social issues and so much more.

5. The Numbers: There's 721 Pokemon as of 2016. That's cool but there's been well over 1200 Digimon for a decade now. Pokemon are playing catch-up like they have been for years. Also a lot of them are just way cooler, and they all talk. Why is a solitary Meowth the only Pokemon that was dedicated enough to learn how to speak. Weak sauce.

    1. Me too. I mean, I watched Digimon Frontier and Pokemon both, and there was a big difference. Now that I rewatch Frontier a lot or whenever I can, even Season 4's Digimon look and display elegant, beautiful, color-coordinated armor and nice movesets that I love. Digimon Frontier also displayed real-world themes which were related to what I faced throughout my college years and now. I agree with this, too. I was a Digimon kid more.
