Top 10 Songs: Month of December 2015

Too much music came out this month and some left overs from last month. I damn near wasn't able to listen to all of it especially with albums dropping from big names like Dynamic Duo, Verbal Jint, and Vasco. It was hard to take all of it in but I was able to squeeze in these songs that are my favorite this month.

Phantom - Could You Be Mine
After a year of solo releases from all 3 members, Phantom came together to release a single at the beginning of this month. Could You Be Mine is a breath of fresh air because its different from the other hip hop releases this year. The year has been filled with lots of releases spanning the different sub genres of Hip Hop so this release is great. The song has a subtle beat and melody meant for a more lowkey or chill mode as the the rappers each delivery verses of asking a woman to finally be there and they are not taking no for an answer. From fast paced to slower paced raps, this song is full of vigor that makes the repeat button explode.

Baek Yerin - As I Am
Baek Yerin released her anticipated debut mini album and it did not disappoint. All of the songs are amazing but the song that sticks out the most is As I Am. The song is entirely sung in English which I  didn't notice upon the first listen. I was too busy enjoying the soft melody that is creating an aura of "I'm not letting you hurt me" and "This feels like a Tumblr worthy song". Actually the whole album s Tumblr worthy. As I Am's lyrics are the best part because she is addressing her haters that continue to hate for no reason and Yerin frankly doesn't care. See what I did there.

BTS - Butterfly
This song here is the most beautiful song I have heard all year. The simple melody that is made from a mix of Pop, R&B, and Hip Hop is one of their or if not, best song. Butterfly is that song were the girls is so beautiful and everything you wanted but you also don't want to fuck things up. Its totally that but said in a more pretty way. I can listen to this song so many times before I switch songs. Its just so beautiful that I can't get enough of it.

Verbal Jint - Karma/Frustration Fruit
It was a hard decision trying to pick two songs from Verabal Jint's amazing album. There was no way I could only pick one. I love Frustration Fruit because of Esna's vocals. I mean the song is amazing especially the production but Esna's soothing voice is the selling point for me. If you know me then you know I love me some ESNA. Karma is great because it has Lil Cham on it. Her verse was superb from the lyrics to the flow. Her flow was my favorite part. She straight killed this song. I told y'all Lil Cham is a great rapper.

Namie Amuro - Red Carpet
After the album that is _genic, Namie Amuro released her single Red Carpet that includes Black Make Up as well. Red Carpet is about her being VIP and a superstar but being around him makes her nothing. The lyrics aren't much but the production and melody are catchy enough for me to keep it on repeat.

Joe Rhee - On Me
All Joe Rhee wants is for her to put it down on him and only him. Yea this song is about fucking or lap dances, so fucking. There isn't much to it but the hip hop and R&B number that was produced by 24 is a great banger. Especially if you like lap dances. I know I do.

Yezi - Crazy Dog
Is there really much to say about this song? We all know the lyrics well, we were just waiting on a release. The beat is different but I'm not complaining because its great. The bass on this song is great. A lot of people don't like San E's part but I do. I felt like since this song was really anticipated that she should have gone solo but the addition of San E doesn't hurt at all. I can go without his ad libs though.

Hyolyn, JooYoung, Bumkey - Love Line
Is this not the greatest collaboration song this year? JooYoung, Hyolyn and Bumkey on one song is heaven. All of there voices are so amazing and in sync on a melodic level that is crazy. The beat is so catchy. The chorus is my favorite because Hyolyn's voice gets deeper and the the trap influence is great and unexpected from an R&B song. The lyrics are about having a love line with someone."Get on the phone bitch" would be my response but this is a more crafted response. I need more Hyolyn songs like this.

Ja Mezz - Monday Syndrome
Ja Mezz released a new single with the previous single Back To School and new song In The Zone. I love Monday Syndrome because its a song that says "fuck Monday, I just want to hang out and get drunk on Sunday". The beat is mellow and the use of auto tune is a nice touch. Ja Mezz gives us another song filled with lyrics that we can all relate to.

Dynamic Duo - Jam
How could this song not be on my list. Jam is so damn smooth with Choiza's laid back flow and Gaeko's great singing. The song's production is so damn chill as well. I honestly don't know what Jam is about besides it being about love or something, The song is just catchy as hell.

Well here is my list of my favorite songs this month. It took me forever just to narrow down these songs will all the good music that was released. I just want to point out that San E's Do It For Fun is amazing and if it had come out a week earlier there would be 11 songs on the list. Even though there are technically 11 songs already. Tell me you're favorite songs this month or just the songs you can't take off repeat below.
