*SPOILER ALERT IF YOU AREN'T CAUGHT UP TO THE BLEACH MANGA*
In the recent Bleach chapter Kyoraku is presumably beaten by Lille Barro. Nanao comes to rescue him and her back story as well as Kyoraku's is revealed. Just to give e brief summary of the events, Nanao is a member of the Ise clan that only has one Zanpakuto that is based down in generations. Her mother kept it from Nanoa because she didn't want her to suffer the Ise curse so she gave it to Kyoraku who gave it to his Zanpakuto to hide. Nanao recievs Hakkyoken. Then she leaves Kageoni to fight Barro releasing her Zanpakuto.
Now this raises a lot of questions. Nanao has never been a crucial character in the series so this is definitely her defining moment. But, will Nanao defeat one of the Elite 4 by herself, will another character jump in the fight, will Kyoraku return to finish him? One can only speculate with this chapter. I hope she defeats Barro.
Now here me out. Kyoraku should have defeated Barro after releasing his most anticipated Bankai. The fact that he failed after doing so is a good sign. If the Captain Commander after releasing his Bankai for the first time in the series can not defeat one of the villains, the villain must be a powerful foe. Kubo has created a formidable foe in Lille Barro. Even though its a lieutenant whose power level is not none comes to help Kyoraku, it means that these villains are no joke.
Now I would love for Nanao to win especially since she's a lieutenant, a female, and this will be her first legit fight. Now the way it looks is that she might actually win based off the description of Hakkyoken and Barro's story of being a god. Hakkyoken does not cut but is made for saying magical things or sins. Nanao is the only person in the series that can beat him. The only down fall to her winning is that Kyoraku a captain, the Captain Commander, lost. But at the same time it adds to the story which is something to talk about another time.
So basically what I'm tying to say is that I hope Nanao defeats Barro. I just hope it isn't one sided. It should drag out to at least 3 chapters. It should be a real fight and not a one shot. What are your thoughts on this situation? Tell me in the comments down below.
