Ja Mezz - 1/4 Album Review

Korean Underground rapper Ja Mezz has released his first full length album 1/4. The album focuses on the daily lives of men who have only lived quarter of their life. This album illustrates Ja Mezz's daily life and his dreams for the future. I enjoy this album. The theme is different from all of the other albums released this year. This is the most personal album yet. The single Pilot is really good. It details his life from living in China to south Korea, his daily life such as school and working on music. One of my favorite lines from Pilot is "baby you like the taste of my dick but what do you know about my dreams". I've never heard this before. He's like yeah you like me for my substance but can you really understand what I'm trying to do in life. I like that, its new and proving his points.

That is what this entire album is about. Ja Mezz is 26 and all he knows how to do is party and dream big. Fresh Money is about being young and dreaming. Not being afraid to dream big and capture your dreams. Pawnshop is about going to school since Ja Mez is still in college. It's also about opening up your mind to new experiences and knowledge in general. Setting your mind free so that you can embrace and follow the plan that god has set out for you.

Previously released songs Audi, Drinks Up and Hangover are all about one night which happens a lot. Riding around with your friends, having one night stands and waking up to a hangover. All in the name of being young and having fun. There are not a lot of bangers on the album interns of songs you can turn up to. The only song is Strexx which still conveys a message of being ambitious. As I said I enjoyed this album. It is a good album that conveys the feelings of young men. I'm pretty sure all young men can relate to dreaming big as we go to college and just live our lives. It has nice messages such as staying on your grind, gaining knowledge and being a good person. I give this album a 7.5 / 10. I highly recommend it and as parting words "Live well and Prosper" - Ja Mezz.
