Second Season Please: Z/X Ignition

Can we please get a second season to the anime Z/X Ignition? It aired back in the winter anime season of 2014 and it only ran for 12 episodes. I don't understand why the anime only got 12 episodes or just one season in all. I watched the anime and nothing was really that bad. Lets dissect this anime.

The story revolves around a handful of characters that have had their entire life impacted by these worlds. By worlds I mean that there is "our" world and 5 different others. The other Worlds are White, Green, Red, Blue, and  Black. Each World is different as the Blue world is run by technology and the White World is run by Angels. The Blue World is messed up so don't go there. These Worlds or Black Points opened all around the world and every thing was changed from then on. All of the Worlds are fighting for territory in out World and are doing it by any means necessary. But in order for the creatures from the world to sustain life in ours, they have to make a contract with a human. It's kinda like Digimon and Yugioh is some form.

So that's basically what the anime is like. Lets talk about the good things about it. The animation is really nice. Its clear and concise and when there are fight scenes the animation gets even better. The characters are really enjoyable. Like I said each character is unique due to their back stories. For Instance Ayase Kamiyuki's parents were killed right in front of her by Angels from the White World. Ironic right? So she decides to help the Black Wold by killing and getting revenge on all angels. It sounds like some Sasuke and Kurapika type stuff but she actually has goals instead of just killing. She wants to get rid of or make the creatures go back to their original worlds. She comes off as an annoying character but it is sort of justified. My favorite character is Azumi Kagamihara. She is only 10 years old (not a lolicon Darrel) but her character is really good. She has a diseases that doesn't allow her to be a regular girl and her parents don't have the money to keep treating her because there is no cure in this world. They pretty much bail on her then. But the Blue World had Technology so far advanced that they actually had a cure for her.The one condition is that she has to server the Blue World. Like I said earlier, you don't want to mess with the Blue World so things get shady quick.

The actual story and the way it is told is pretty damn good. Each episode dives deeper into each of the characters lives and why they do certain things. It seems repetitive but its enjoyable. I think the only downfall or thing that I didn't like was that at times the story seemed slow. Sometimes the episodes would take forever just to get a point across. Even so it was still enjoyable. Z/X Ignition started out as a card game, then manga, and finally an anime. I guess the reason it didn't get a second season was because it wasn't too popular. Even so I still think a second season or a longer first season would have been a good thing for its sales. They did drop a video game after the card game so if the anime or the manga continued it could had a game on the current gems PS4 and XBox One. I know I would have played.

I just wished that this anime would have gotten a second season because out of all the winter anime, this, Hamatora, and D Frag! were the only ones that kept me entertained the entire season. The other ones got lackluster as hell by the fifth episode. I'm looking at you Mahou Sensou or some of you may know it as Magical Warfare. But that's another day. I'm going to be doing these from now on. I don't know how often I will do them but I do know what series I am going to do. Just suspect the Winter 2014 Anime lineup as a prime example for future post.
