So Toonami lost an hour of programming but does anyone really care? How many people actually watch all of Toonami? Who is up at 6 in the morning eating hot pockets and thinking about anime? I like Toonami. I actually love it but its not that exciting. Now I'm not going to say "it was better when I was a kid" or "our childhood was our golden years" no. Let me tell you why every body who is a Toonami faithful who have a brain, don't watch Tonami much or none at all.
Its the same old thing. When Toonami first came back in 2012 it had a great lineup. It was wasn't as long as it is now but it was good. We had Deadman Wonderland, Casshern Sins, FMA Brotherhood (before it got really tiring) and a few other new shows to Toonami. Then the first thing possible happened. We all wanted and it happened. We all wanted Naruto, One Piece and DBZ and when we got them it got boring. I actually wanted One Piece on Toonami. Only because it would be easier for people who didn't watch it to get into it. Now here is the problem with the other series we wanted. Naruto, Bleach, and DBZ are long. One Piece is too by I already discarded it due to not a lot of people liking it. They eventually get boring due to the long drawn out plot. I like all of these series but to watch them every week and get no where. On top of majority of use already know what's going to happen. Its tiring.
Like I said when Toonami first came back it had lots of new great shows. Soul Eater, Tenchi Muyo GXP(Didn't like it but okay) Symbiotic Titan, and even the 2011 version of Thundercats. WE have gotten a lot of new show but they are short. They are the best but too short in some cases. Toonami has shrived on the new shows. No one knew what Samurai 7, Cashern Sins, or Deadman Wonderland were. Toonami brought us new and good anime. Most of us got into more anime or the manga version of them. I would have never read the Deadman Wonderland manga if it wasn't for Toonami.
The reason Toonami is losing ratings is because everything on there has been seen already. Nothing currently running is new. Kill La Kill will be new when it comes but I don't think it will be able to hold all ow its ratings. Or it could. Kill La Kill is always doing the unexpected. The point I'm trying to make is that if you put new content on, you will get better ratings. At this point we need to just put subtitles on tv because if not we will get Cowboy Bebop and FMA Brotherhood forever.
I never would have watched gurren lagann if it wasn't for toonami ,as well as deadman wonderland. But it's true and I also think that toonami is on a time that's too late, when I was a kid it was on earlier than that which made it more enjoyable and I watched the whole thing.
