First thing is that NIP makes sure to name himself the king of horrorcore but there's probably three horrorcore songs on the actual album. The rest is the typical bad baller rap. The second song on the album is called "Rick Rossin." In the song before he told us this would be the one of the scariest albums of the year. The song "Rick Rossin" was about balling out. It wasn't about killing Rick Ross, or anyone. It wasn't a scary situation. Just balling out at the strip club. That might not have been so bad but he actually has a song called "Strip Club" later in the album.
Despite calling himself the king of horrorcore multiple times throughout, it's not a horrorcore album. The most violent thing he does is threaten to stab someone in the eye with a screwdriver. That was on the first track "NIP is coming." While the most of the album is about typical baller rap things it's lackluster in even that aspect.
The instrumentals are heavily dated. Despite coming out in 2010 this album sounds like something from the late 90s. NIP has a new label and maybe he felt like this was something that he could just force out but it didn't work. Everything about the album is outdated. On top of that throughout the album he keeps making claims then doing the opposite. You can't claim to be the king of horrocore and then create tribute songs to Rick Ross.
Here's what makes it worse. He had plans for an album in 2013 that I couldn't find. It either never got released or it was so bad nobody cared. He also has an album called God of Horrocore set to be released sometime in 2014. Honestly, this album left bad taste in my mouth. I'm not eager to check out more of NIPs work. I probably never will. There's something about an artist claiming to do one thing and then doing the complete opposite that turns me away.
