Mr. Terrific, Michael Holt was once labeled the third smartest person in the world. Behind who? It was never mentioned who the smartest were. Lex Luthor, the guy who can't kill Superman? Bruce Wayne, the guy who doesn't build his own gadgets and even stole some of Michael's? I'll give batman that crown saying "World's Greatest Detective" but when it comes to knowledge, he can't hold a torch to Michael. "Batman designed the watchtower" No he payed for it and helped build it, Architect/Green Lantern John Stewart designed it. Off the top of my head people smarter than Lex Luthor; Hardware, Steel, T.O. Morrow, Ray Palmer, Ted Kord. Please never label those two as smarter than Michael ever again. I'll accept T.O. Morrow and Hiro Okamaru. Bruce and Lex have companies researching their stuff for them. Michael builds everything himself. Maybe Bruce and Luthor are better detectives and fighters but in straight knowledge, they can't touch Michael.

Michael Holt was born a genius, but also a caring one. Michael had an older brother named Jeffry who was mentally challenged and ill. While Jeffery struggled with almost everything Michael excelled at everything. At the age of six Michael had already mastered the advanced science of space and time. Michael's best friend and older brother died at the age of fifteen which was the first of many losses in Michael's life driving him towards justice.

Michael not only became an Olympic Gold Medalist in the Decathlon he also earned fourteen PHDs and Doctorates in various fields. Olympic Gold Medalist Dr. Michael Holt. Michael used the money from his Olympic wins to found Cyberware. After just a few short years Cyberware was fighting with Waynetech for the largest share of the market. One day Michael approached Bruce Wayne and sold the company for billions. Michael never wanted a large market share, his plan all along was to make Bruce pay him to quit.

But through all of this the accomplishment Michael was most proud of was marrying his wife Paula. After Jeffery died Michael had spent most of his life depressed, but Paula was "the sunshine that drove that darkness away". Paula became Michael's reason for living. One day Michael learned that Paula was pregnant with their first child. Sadly her vehicle was struck by a drunk driver. The crash killed the drunk driver, Paula, the unborn baby and Michael's will to live. Until that point Michael had believed in God but after that he cursed God and became an Atheist.

Ironically it was Spectre who stopped Michael from committing suicide. Spectre sat with Michael and told him stories of the original Mr. Terrific, Terry Sloane. Inspired Michael took up the roal of Mr. Terrific. After some time as a vigilante he joined the Justice Society of America.

During this time he established a rivalry with Batman who fills the same role for the JLA, outsmarting him on several occasions. It's funny because they have no idea that they see each other often because after he sold his company he gained a position on the Waynetech board and the second largest stake in the company. During time travel missions Michael managed to meet Terry Sloane twice. Terry was happy to know that Michael had followed in his footsteps. Terry stated Michael was destined for greater things than he himself had accomplished.

For a while Hawkman and Sand feuded for leadership in the Justice Society of America. Eventually it got way out of hand and the two began sabotaging each other on missions. This lead to all of the members voting on which of the two would lead the team. Despite the fact Michael had no intention of being the leader/chairman he received every vote except Hawkman and Sand. Michael reluctantly accepted the role. Michael actually surprised himself for the first time ever, he was actually a good leader.

During Infinite Crisis Michael was recruited by Batman to help stop Brother Eye. Let me rephrase that, Batman was recruited by Michael. Michael had hacked the batcomputer long ago and already knew of Batman's plan. In fact he had a revised version when Batman sent him an invite. Michael could have shown up in the Batcave and said "what took so long Bruce." Some of the team questioned why Batman would recruit another man with no powers. Michael jokingly told Black Lightning "I have one superpower, I'm invisible to all forms of technology." In reality there is actually nanotechnology in his T-Mask that makes him invisible. Since Michael wasn't able to be seen by Omac he was the one who was able to redirect the satellite to Earth by reprogramming the propulsion system. Black Lightning and Mr. Terrific actually became good friends. You know that whole gold medalists thing probably helped although they don't know each others secret identity.

After the JSA was disbanded in the new DC Continuum Michael became a solo hero in the City of angles Los Angles. He's a billionaire hero. Michael still hasn't started dating again but he has a friend with benefits in Power Girl. Seriously that's all they are. They have casual sex whenever she's in L.A.

During this timeline it was actually Michael's son from an alternate universe that inspired him instead of Spectre. His brother was also named Aron. That's what he chose to call his son. DC stop changing stuff for no reason please.

When a group of international terrorists called Prodigy attacked Michael made his public appearance. During the battle Black Hawk had a problem with Michael because they believed that all technology should be controlled by the government.

Later Michael discovered Karren Star broke into his lab to open a dimensional rift. Michael set his computer to capture her if she ever stepped foot on his property again. Michael then opened the rift himself and jumped in, because that's the best way to travel.

In the rift he saw parts of the future. His role as a chairman of the JSA. Fighting Power Girl and being killed by another Mr. Terrific. Something knocked him out of the rift and knocked him out as well. He awoke in his bedroom with his T-Spheres memory erased. Michael was going to investigate but the city was under attack and that took priority.

After "One Year Later" Michael is still a member of JSA because he never left because DC just joined the two universes because they didn't like the restart. Damn you DC. Anyway at this time, Michael is the chairman of the JSA, the White Bishop/Chief Adviser for Checkmate and a mentor to Firestorm. Once Alan Scott stepped down Michael became White King. This forced him to step down from the JSA chairmanship. At this time he began a real relationship with  Sasha Bordeaux. Power Girl took over his role in the JSA and was jealous of his new relationship. But she didn't want to be exclusive so it's her fault that he moved on. 

During "Final Crisis" Mr. Terrific was one of the few people that survived the Anti-Life equation. Michael was locked in a building with a few others mainly Cheetah, yes the vileness, and Sasha. Sasha used the OMAC codes to shut her self down rather than face the possibility of death. 

Michael was backed into a corner and was forced to risk Sasha's life to get the OMAC codes. She had a 50-50 chance of surviving, she didn't make it. But Michael did get the codes. He reprogrammed OMAC to serve him and only him. He then used OMAC to seek out and protect all of the remaining humans while battling the Justifiers and Darkseid.

After the events Michael returns to his role as chairman of JSA. While working in his lab the Tapeworm is on the news for causing trouble. While the rest of the JSA heads out Michael is stabbed through the back and abdomen by All American Kid. The team returns hours later to find Michael unconscious and bleeding out and barely breathing. Dr. Mid-Nite tried his best to revive him with Alan Scott slowing down time around his brain to prevent brain damage. But they couldn't stop it and Michael died.

During this time Michal had a vision of his wife Paula, his unborn son and brother. It was at that time that Michal questioned his Atheism and disbelief of an afterlife. He was dead but he was finally happy. There he was with his family, after so many years of fighting depression he was there, happy with them. 

Then a shock happened. Michael was snatched away from that happy scenery and back to real life. Dr. Fate had used his power to revive Michael. Realizing he was alive again Michael Launched an attack with his T-Spheres on All American Kid. Revealing to the team that he was actually Kid Karnevil in disguise. After this Michael was stuck in a wheel chair for a few months but he continued working as mission leader from a distance and creating new equipment. During this time Michael discusses his death with Dr Mid-Nite and agrees to go to church with him. Michael wasn't displeased nor pleased with the service. He was next seen discussing the Jewish faith with Ragman.  

[I don't know if Michael is still an Atheist, if he's Agnostic, if he's still looking at religions or not because people didn't like the side story. Michael was causing too much trouble. Atheist reader wrote in because they didn't like an Atheist hero being taken away. Meanwhile religious readers didn't like that he was asking questions of their faith, so they wrote letters too. So DC just dropped the story because it was upsetting to so many people. So we don't know his current stance on religion, all we know is he believes in Fair Play Still and that's something we can all believe in.]
