The gameplay is similar to Heavy Rain, simple controls shown on screen with more emphasis on cinematics. You can control Jodie and her entity, Aiden, to help her do many things, from unlocking doors for her to possessing soldiers & guards to do her random deeds.
The only problems I can see with this game is that the missions are all over the place in terms of a chronological timeline, but on the ending I chose the first time around, it gives some sort of explanation for that reason. It has a very high replay value, every part having tons of scenes, just like Heavy Rain, and tons of endings to choose from.
How Heavy Rain gives the feeling of a depressive, emotional thriller, Beyond:Two Souls gives those emotions plus more. It's a very dramatic, intense game that truly plays like an Oscar winning film. Quantic Dream have really improved their game making capabilities in the time from Heavy Rain to Beyond:Two Souls.
Pros:
• Great characters, Ellen Page's acting in the game is superb as well as everyone else's. Really makes you feel for the characters.
• The cinematics are amazing
• I never got bored, in fact I wanted to sit & play more.
• The controls aren't too difficult which may attract non-gamers to this beautiful game
Cons:
• The storyline is a little rugged, but makes sense at the same time. It really shapes "Jodie Holmes" as a person in the long run.
• Only out on one platform, so it doesn't get as much marketing or can't be played by some gamers
Rating 8.9/10
If you have a Playstation 3, I really suggest you buy this game
