Sometimes Kara is the least interesting person on her show. Actually, that's most of the time. While some people are hoping for a Superman themed spinoff I'm looking in another direction. What if there was spinoff based on one of the series regulars on the show. It may not happen now, but every CW show gets a spinoff eventually. Arrow had Flash, Flash had Legends, Legends will probably have Booster Gold in a few seasons. It's only right Supergirl gets one.
1. Alex Danvers
Alex really doesn't get enough credit at all. She's a bad ass secret agent that takes down evil aliens. It's not like she just started this when Kara became Supergirl either. She's been doing this for years and has helped fight off countless invasions along with the DEO. On top of that she's also recently come out of the closet and started dating another bad ass who spent years as a loose cannon cop. Sure Kara has superpowers but a spinoff with Alex would be like Law and Order with aliens. She's also got that cool power armor she uses when fighting aliens sometimes. She's good. She needs a spin off.
2. J'onn and M'Gann
He's one of the last living Green Martians and the mothefucking Martian Manhunter. He's got decades of bad ass stories staring himself including some hard boiled detective stuff. On top of that he's got one serious case of PTSD with a side of survivor's guilt. She's a White Martian pretending to be a Green Martian after refusing to go along with the murderous ways of her people. She's constantly being tracked by people who want to kill her for treason and is haunted by those she attempted to save but couldn't. If the two of them couldn't have some awesome stories I don't know who.
3. Jimmy Olson
Jimmy has been living in the shadow of Superman for a long time. Then he lived in the shadow of Supergirl. He's tried to make it as his own hero and that has had some ups and downs. However, we've seen through his interactions with other adults and kids that Jimmy is actually a really cool guy still trying to find his own place in the world. We could have a midlife crisis series with Jimmy as he moves to a new city and attempts to create a name for himself beyond friend of heroes. Or, we've seen that Jimmy has created a bond with the Phorians who are just happy to see a planet with black people. We can see him and Marcus maneuver through the world and integrate the Phorians to the world.
4. Cat Grant
Cat is a monster and I mean that in a good way. She's built and empire and is always looking for her next move. I'd love to see a show focusing on how she came up in the world of media. We can do flashbacks as it relates to her current status of pending media domination. It wouldn't be very action oriented at all because Cat isn't about that life. But it would be a good boardroom drama. It'd basically be Iron Fist without ninjas.
