Laboum - Fresh Adventure Single Album Review

Laboum have released their fourth single album consisting of 5 songs. This can be referred to as an unofficial mini album or a maxi single. The fifth song is the instrumental for the title song Fresh Adventure.

The album starts out with a nice beat that prepares us for the next song which is the title song Fresh Adventure. Upon my first listen of the song I was not found of it. I thought it was another cute concept that was not going to click with my mature ears. But upon the third listen I was hooked. Its cute but that's just the appeal. The singing is very clear and each member stands out. They were finally able to utilize their voices on a song that compliments them and their style. The lyrics are very good. It describes going on a new adventure to a beautiful place that will be special to them and their partner. I love that it isn't a cheesy love song but just a song about having fun in a new world.

The lines

"Glowing cobalt blue sea/a small island that's lighted by the moon"
"I need an excitement which is like a lemon"
"The forest that's full of mint colored winds/cocktails with sweet flavors"

are some of my favorite because they give off a perfect description of this perfect place. I can imagine it without having to physcically see it. And the first lie is just really sweet. Fresh Adventure is a pretty solid song that brings you into spring without the cheesy love songs and lyrics. The beat is cool and the chorus is catchy which got me hooked on to the song.

3 Strike Out is a song about how this guy is a jerk but he's also the boyfriend. Their pushing him away instead of embracing him or it being a typical sad song. I like this song alot. The upbeat tone is really cool and it's super catchy. This is a good song to play when you need a little pick me up. Caterpillar ends the album in terms of actual songs and it's a good one. A ballad song which utilizes the girl voices. The beat is nice and tells a bit of the story. The lyrics reflecting the decision of a person who is going to move forward with her love. I love the subtle references of spring here and there to represent that Spring is usually a time for love. It wasn't overbundant making you sick. Even though it's a ballad I see myself listening to this song a lot in continuation with the rest of the album which is upbeat.

This single was pretty good. The album has a definite Spring feel without you having to tell you it's Spring. All of the songs were composed well with amazing production and the girl's vocals on point. Those high notes were beautiful by the way. A solid single album which has me in anticipation for their next release. Hopefully it's a mini album or maybe a full length one. I enjoyed these songs a lot. I rate this a 3.5/5.
