Hero Cruz
Hero Cruz real name no gimmicks. Born in raised in Metropolis on the playground, where he spent most of his days. Chillin out maxin relaxin all cool, shooting some b-ball outside the school. Until he started meddling then he found the weapons arsenal of Scavenger. Amongst those was the Achilles Vest. Instead of just leaving he stole it.
The Achilles Vest made him invincible when he wore it. He joined an intergalactic rave known as the Event Horizon. One of the members was Superboy they became best friends since they played the same role on the team and made great sparring partners.
After a few months Hero invited all his team members to his home on Earth so they could spend Christmas with him. Too bad Scavenger realized someone had robbed him and had been teleporting around the Earth causing trouble looking for it. Scavenger found the vest and took Sparx with him as a hostage. Scavenger was beating the whole teams ass. Then Hero grabbed a belt with his name on it.
The belt, later called the H Dial, let Hero transform into different superheros. He often chose women for a long time. Eventually this changed when he became comfortable with himself. Anyway back to the story, they beat Scavengers ass.
Hero began to control the belt with skill after some training. Every hero was completely different. Some completely non important soul searching happens before the next major event. The Rave is broken up. Hero tries to join the Teen Titans but none of the original members nominate him. Beast Boy however decided to restart Titans West with the new name Titans L.A. and chose Hero to join the team. Beast Boy couldn't hold the team together. Hero has been flying solo and constantly battling Scavenger, understandable because you stole his shit twice.

Josiah Power
Josiah is relatively low profile with his abilities. Josiah was a lawyer but when his mutant abilities began to appear he was fired from his law firm. He made the best of this. Instead of becoming a superhero hero he simply sues the Law Firm. He wins.
With the large amount of money he received he opens a law firm. Not really he states he always hated being a lawyer. So he opens a business called The Power Company. Here he operates a heroes for hire type business, although it is organized like a law firm. Law practicing superheros is the stuff nightmares are made of. Superman is suing me, saying he hurt his fist on my face. Damn.

- Rock Form: Josiah is already a big man but he can grow several feet and increase his already great strength and durability to superhuman levels when he transforms
Thunder
Anissa Pierce's dad is Black Lightning and her little sister is Lightning. Black Lightning has a post for later in the month because he's one of my favorites. Her dad refused to let her be a "Reckless Vigilante" More on that phrase when we get to the Black Lightning post. I'm writing inside jokes in future tense. Anyway, he made sure she stayed in school and supported her even when kept changing her major. She eventually chose one and became a surgeon. That night at her graduation party she put on her costume.
After a running solo for a while Red Arrow asked her to join the Outsiders and she became one of the founding members. Black Lightning found out when he was tracing a villain the Outsiders were also tracking. He demanded she quite the team. When she said no he took lead of the team. Who was gonna stop him? After a while he decided to let her stay and he went back to dodging Justice League Membership.
After the events of One Year Later she finally got a new costume and threw away her blonde wig. She had been undercover in Africa. Thunder is well liked in the team and shows that her skills have improved greatly. However when Batman takes control of the team he fires because he isn't impressed. I think it was because Black Lightning kept dodging those Justice League Membership.
Batman invited her on mission and made her sit with him in a van. She begged for her spot back but he stated she was only there for emotional support. She learns Batman had sent the team to fight OMAC and she's outraged. She kicks the doors off the van and goes to save her team.
Back at her apartment she tries to explain that she isn't part of the team. Then Batman's goon shows up. Batgirl shows up and throws her through a window and proceeds in the ambush attack before fleeing. Cole World. Later the Outsiders are captured and need rescue. Batman recruits Thunder and Nightwing to help.
She continues to simply show up on missions whenever she wants. She had a pocket full of fucks and couldn't give Batman a single one. Batgirl screws up trying to disarm a bomb on a mission and gets Thunder blown up. She isn't mentioned for a while but Black Lighting mentions she's in a coma.
During her coma the team split in two. She joined Black Lightnings half after she had fully recovered. They had a fight against the Justice Society of America. Because sometimes Superheros just don't get along. Lightning was on the JSA team. More division in that family. Throughout all of this Grace her original Outsider teammate has stood by her. After Batman broke up the team Grace and Thunder returned to their apartment.

What do all these superheroes have in common besides being black? They're gay. Seriously they're gay superheroes like, Elton John. Hero transformed into women most of the day to feel comfortable until he learned his team didn't care he was gay at which point he was okay with being himself. Josiah is married to his husband Rupert and Thunder has been in a relationship with Grace since One Year Later.
