Flame of Recca Volume 20 Review: The ERASE Is REAL

Chapters 188-197

Volume 20 of Flame of Recca is a decent showing of when you have okay storytelling and things don't always have to end in fights but nonetheless, as I've been saying for the past 19 volumes, the fights here are never that entertaining. Also all of the characters in this arc, except for Rasen and Kirin, are amazing creeps. All of them have this weird obsession with underage children, killing and capturing them. All of these villains are weak and disposable.  Raiha shows up to mercilessly kill the creep that captured Fuuko and it wasn't all that fun. No matter how strong Raiha is supposed to be, all he did was just slice buddy up.

Domon beating Kirin was fun because we got an introspective on Kirin's personality which was cool because it makes me like her even more. She lost weirdly but I'll let it pass because without her we wouldn't know about Rasen's past of powers. I thought that was cool. His explanation most likely proves that he isn't hat strong. His madogu s amazing. He has the power to erase all things. Finally, another Eraser on the field. We got Toriko and we got Rasen, lets go. I'm starting to like Rasen as well and his background was sad and it makes the Kokai Gyoku even cooler.

I thought this was a cool volume. I'm trying to figure out why exactly Raiha is here. IS here here to help Fuuko or the rest of Hokage? Does he know Kurei is on his way? Also where is Koran? I thought he got to the Jigoku before anyone. Also I really wanted the Jigoku to pick Tokiya on some Babidi shit. Tokiya's growth is definitely being stunted by Hokage. I would love to see what's happening next since Rasen seems to be defeated. Good volume but I'm looking forward to the next.
