Complete Series Review: Blood-C and The Last Dark Movie

Blood-C is not a continuation of Blood+, but an alternate story-line. With that, lets dive into what Blood-C is. The story follows Saya Kisiragi who lives on an small agricultural island. Saya lives with her father in a shrine. Her mother is reportedly dead. The only thing we know about her mother is that she used to fight these so called ancient ones or Furikimono. It is now Saya's job to defeat these monsters and protect her village.

The story line is fine yet it takes too long to get to it. The story doesn't unfold until the eighth episode. From there shit really gets real. The first seven episodes are flat out boring except for the few action scenes. Kisiragi is stronger and better with a sword than Saya Otonashi but Otonashi has a better character than Kisiragi. There series has a decent OST. Alexis Tipton did a great job with Saya's voice, from it being a high pitched girly voice to the darker and defined tone. Now I like, yet hate Blood-C at the same time. The first 7 episodes are pretty much pointless but the last four kind of make of for it. Everything that happens in the last four episodes keeps you on your feet and wanting more but then it ends.

The Last Dark

The Last Dark is the movie sequel to Blood-C so I will try not to spoil too much of it. It takes place back in Japan where Saya is trying to find and kill the man who captured her and put her in the island she lived on for a bout six months to a year. She ends up meeting a team of hackers who are trying to bring down the Tower who are the guys backing up the man Saya is trying to kill. Here is where things go down hill for me. The story is more based on the people Saya meets instead of herself. She helps them try to bring down the Tower but her true intentions get pushed aside. I don't care about any other character in this series but Saya. I watched the  movie to find out what would happen to her as she finds out who she truly is. Saya was treated as a side character for Mana who is useless, serving as pure fanserive due to her giant breast. I still enjoyed the movie because of the animation, OST, and Saya being a badass. I still feel like the creators have super butterfingers because they didn't drop the ball, they missed completely.

Even though it may seem that this has a lot of negatives to it, I would still recommend it. I still enjoyed Blood-C overall but it did have some bad points to it . Blood-C is a lot more gory and violent than Blood+. Just try to find it uncensored that way you can enjoy it a lot more. If you've seen Blood-C before than tell me what you think. If you missed the Blood+ review than you can check it out here. That's it for now and I will see you guys later.
