Image Comics For Your Eyeholes Part 4

Back again with some interesting Image Comics for y'all to read. Going to do the usual, drop 6 Image series worth giving a fair chance plus one from a different publisher. Without further ado let's get right into things.

6. Elsewhere -  Story by Jay Faerber and the art is drawn by Sumeyye Kesgin. It’s a pretty interesting take on what happened to some missing pilots like Dan Cooper and Amelia Earhart. The comics suggest that they got transported to some other world. It’s only three issues in so far but, it’s a solid start.

5. The Realm - By the creative team Seth M. Peck, Jeremy Haun and Nick Filardi, The Realm is only two issues in but it has had one of the most interesting starts in recent comics. The world has been thrown into disarray by mythical creatures such as dragons, orcs etc. The story follows a group of humans trying to survive in this ever-growing, despair filled world.

4. Lazurus - The world has been divided into 16 large territories, each ruled by one major family. In this dystopian, coming of age story, Forever Carlyle must come to terms with her identity in this hopeless future.

3. Sunbakery - A comic anthology full of short stories all written and drawn by Corey Lewis. This graphic novel has video game parodies, series that are Shounen Jump inspired and many more that continue on through the issues. A must read and must buy!

2. Kill or Be Killed - A comic book series written Ed Brubaker, drawn by Sean Phillips with Elizabeth Breitweiser as the colorist. A depressed, cynical, 28 year old heartbroken man fails at a suicide attempt. He is then plagued by a demon that says it saved his life but to continue living, he must murder one person a month. The main character becomes physically ill and sick if he doesn't kill...what to do...?

1. Invincible - The self proclaimed greatest superhero comic book in the universe might not at all be a stretch. Writer Robert Kirkman with artists Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley have created a superhero comic unlike any other. This ultra violent story follows half human, half Viltrumite Mark Grayson as his power start to manifest. Taking up the superhero name Invincible, he attempts to balance being a hero with school, family, love and world threatening events.

Bonus: Mech Cadet Yu - By Greg Pak (author), Takeshi Miyazawa (artist). Stanford Yu is just a kid and a janitor. Suddenly, he is chosen by a sentient giant robot as it's pilot and becomes a cadet, one of earth's protectors. It's currently only on it's third issue but shows promise (Boom Studio not Image).
