"Tyroc" Stewart's home was Marzel, it was a piece of Africa that broke
off and vanished from existence. Tyroc discovered his powers one day
while attempting to protect his friends from a demon's attack. Tyroc
honed his skills on his own with no others around to train him. After
several team ups with the Legion of Superheros Tyroc finally accepted
their invitation and joined the team.
When Jacques Foccart became president Tyroc became his vice president. Shortly before Marzel was destroyed Tyroc became president. However he disappeared during Zero Hour. Later Tyroc returned with all of Marzel and had greatly refined his powers becoming a powerhouse for the team.
Jakeem
"Thunder" Williams was raised by his aunt because his mother died from
cancer. Before he was born his mother moved away from his father and
never told him she was pregnant. A black child without a father because
the mother was on some slick shit. Never seen that before. Did DC get
this idea from Marvel?
Ho did Johnny get the power of Thunderbolt? Johnny Thunder was old and gave the pen to Jay Garrick who gave the pen to Jakeem along with an autograph. When the world is being attacked it takes the entire JSA & JLA in addition to Captain Marvel to learn the pen contained a Genie similar to the Wizard Shazam. It could be controlled by saying it's name Yz backwards. Pronounced "So Cool." Can't make that up people.
Jakeem wished Johnny would be cured from his Alzheimers and liver disease. So of course it happened. However, Johnny was an asshole who called Jakeem a stupid ignorant brat who had no right to wield the power. He underestimated Jakeem's foul mouth and got an earful in return. Later Johnny mergies with the Genie. That's the last we've heard about Jakeem.
