Binge Watching: It's Great

People sitting in rooms with the lights out watching TV all day. Turning their phones off so nobody can call, watching weeks worth of TV in one sitting with all their favorite snacks. It's me, I'm people I'm a binge watcher. I love binge watching, it is the best way to watch TV hands down. I'm going to binge watch this weekend.

If you're living in the past and don't know what binge watching is, I'll tell you. When you sit down to watch hours of a TV show all at once, that's binge watching. I'm not talking two or three episodes, but entire seasons. You're probably asking why anyone would want to do that and there's a lot of reasons. For me, I just don't have the time to sit and watch every show I want to.

Don't get me wrong. I make time to live tweet Arrow, Black Lightning The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow on Twitter. Follow @BlerdsOnline by the way. I rarely miss them, but that's a 2 hour block twice a week. But then you have to add in all the other shows I enjoy like Snowfall, Preacher, Game of Thrones, Archer, and anything people have told me I would like and we've got hours of television and I just don't have the time. I work 40 hours a week, I'm doing way too much yard work lately. I try to have a personal life. I'm always writing a book or something; Super Shorts out now, if you care.

Still there are joys to binge watching. I don't have cliff hangers. Unless it's a show like The Walking Dead that ends every season on a cliff hanger. Still, if you're watching The Walking Dead these days, you deserve whatever comes to you. But, I can just watch Season 7 and Season 8 of Game of Thrones just a month apart, which I plan to do this weekend. I don't have to worry about spoilers because it's easy to mute a few words on Twitter, dodge some reddit post and just tell people to stop talking in real life.

Binge watching is like reading a good book. You start and stop when you feel like it. You might watch 3 episodes this week, and 5 next week. But, it's your choice. Also, it takes way less time. I mean, you can cut out half an hour of commercials with some of these shows. You don't have to worry about the local network cutting in to tell you about a thunderstorm, not a tornado, but a thunderstorm in the middle of the Gotham series finale. I mean there wasn't even any hail involved. Just thunder and lightning.I'll always be mad about that one.

The best part of binge watching, is you do it at your own pace, on your own schedule. As my life has gotten progressively busier, I've grown to hate watching scheduled TV shows. Sometimes I just have other stuff come up. There was a time when I never missed live tweeting a show. I've gotten spotty, people have mentioned it. I recently missed the series Finale of Legends of Tomorrow. I heard about it. I've dropped a bunch of shows from the live tweeting rotation. American Horror Story. Nope. TV Shows that start after 11pm. No not at all. Bing watching is just the greatest.
